BeautifulGame Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Look how low Congis can go to secure an RS seat and in the name of appeasement. Sickening. http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/in-kashmir-five-congressmen-admitted-mistake-in-gurus-hanging-heres-why-738012?site=full Not any less sickening then BJP trying to form coalition with PDP which holds the same view
bulbul Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Not any less sickening then BJP trying to form coalition with PDP which holds the same with . Still having soft corner for Con party :woot:
G_B_ Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Yes, he promised 1000 crore to Hudhud (majority was hit in the Vizag region). While I don't blame him for not giving 1000 crore entirely, it just goes to show how much cash the states require that even central gov't is unable to give the required cash they promised. Secondly, the two states are bust for the following reasons: 1) Since Hyderabad was capital city all along - it got all the infrastructure, educational institutions and software companies in there. Therefore, this left the Telangana gov't a huge surplus to start off with. But, to ensure they gave farmer loan waiver and Student 100% university free subsidies - they already exhausted off all the surplus. Now the issue is, as soon as new capital was formed, there was a capital flight as majority of the investments that were happening in Hyderabad from Andhra guys stopped completely - which means LESS property taxes, and other kinds of taxes - so the Telangana state is teetering towards bankruptcy here - the idiot KCR now is surveying all gov't lands from a helicopter to sell them to get some cash. The funny thing is that YSR the guy before him already sold off 90% of available government land to pay for many of the freebie schemes. 2) Since Andhra is a NEW state, there is no infrastracture, capital city, and there is no great amount of cash coming from taxes as there is no city like Hyderabad in Andhra that is already established and making government money in terms of taxes. Then this other idiot CBN from TDP party promised 100% farmer loan waiver. Which is some crazy number like 40,000 crores or something. Knowing it's impossible to give 100% loan waiver he changed to 1 lakh per acre of land up to certain number of acres for a farmer family. This in itself is a few thousand crores right there. So they are already in a negative balance. He recently stopped all development work just to pay salaries to government employees: http://www.deccanchronicle.com/150128/nation-current-affairs/article/cm-chandrababu-naidu-stops-work-pay-staff-salary 3) The Andhra (Guntur) region is RICH farmland as they are in the Krishna river delta. But again the idiot CBN chose that as a capital city and wants 10,000 acres of land to build capital. They negotiated for 4,000 acres so far - farmers don't want to sell the land and there is some infighting here. But the issue is, if farming gets hurt, literally they will be broke as hell as all the rich guys in Andhra are farmers - as there is no proper industry in Andhra region. So both states are BEGGING Modi to give cash. Actually, Modi used the Jharkhand example in campaigning to say "We helped the splitting of two states under our regime and so we are pro-telangana state" so now when it comes to backing it up with Cash Modi is being fickle. I think he is scared of Bihar etc. and how that pans out before committing thousands of crores to these two states. It's a real cluster*** right now - I would not be surprised if both states file for bankruptcy or at least huge loan waivers from central government very soon as they are already struggling. Based on what you have described the elephant in the room is runaway spending (mostly on farmers) (A) TRS in Telangana (B) CBN in Andhra Pradesh © YSR in the years preceding. How can you blame Modi for that? Any state regardless of size needs some fiscal responsibility. Plus the new Andhra Pradesh has Vijaywada and Vizag two, million plus cities. I realise its not a metro but there are many states who dont have one. Jharkhand itself for comparison Ranchi is the same size in terms of population as Vizag
BeautifulGame Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Ajay Makan has taken responsibility and resigned his post .Thought he was decent Another leader sacrificed to mask the failures of Gandhis
Tiger80 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 This is bigger worry for Congress AAP will eat them alive if they don't groom new leaders. BJP has its committed votebank .Congress votebank will shift to AAP
Sachin=GOD Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 This result should be a HUGE inspiration for Cong if it wants to see it that way - BJP was sweeping everything that came in its path since Lok Sabha and here they have come down to 3 seats while AAP, after losing all 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, is winning nearly ALL seats here. Political comebacks are definitely possible if you go back to the basics and learn from your mistakes.

Sachin=GOD Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Dr. Manmohan Singh standing behind Cong MLA in Delhi:
G_B_ Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The congress is starting to become dead in politics. While BJP took a beating in Delhi in terms of vote share they retained their core. Does not bode well in places like Karnataka etc. Places like Jharkhand and Delhi now there has been a collapse in the Congress vote share. They have got weaker since the lok sabha elections in 2014.
