The point is about how irresponsible statements made by Congressi politicians gives up the country against our staunch enemies. Back in 1994, this happened.. Khurshid's spirited advocacy and Vajpayee's eloquence proved to be astonishingly effective led to the withdrawal of the Pakistan-backed resolution against India. Can this kind of bipartisan thing happen in present times under people like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi? RG went to US commissioner complaining that the nation's greatest threat is Hindu terrorism and not Islamic one! Wah Wah, why need enemies when we have such leaders.

You admitiing that it was a faux-pas yet supporting him while he continue to be obdurate is akin to supporting a spoilt kid who is not ready to admit his open mistake yet need support from his parents. Instead of condemning home minister's irresponsible behaviour in strongest terms, you are coming up with these lame defenses. There are two threads here, so let us address it one-by-one- 1) The actual statements made by our Home Minister 2) The reaction of some of the posters here. 1) The minister has made some made serious allegations. It could true or untrue. Either ways, he needs to come out and show evidence to back his claims up. If he is unable to do that and these are just wild allegations, he should retract those statements and issue a public apology. This is my position. I dont recall making even a single statement in support of the minister 2) Irrespective of which side of the political argument you are on, you probably agree with me that it is not exactly sensible when you try to use the statements made by a Pakistani terrorist to under-mine an Indian politician. That just shows the level of desperation some of these guys have, when it comes to capitalizing on anything to make a cheap political point.
