Desi Cartman Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I have done it couple of times and it works like a charm especially if is a big business. I have used it to humiliate Comcast when they charged me 5 times my bill and then couldn't fix it for months. One tweet and all fixed in a day :) I had a bad experience picking up flooring from a store yesterday and the guy was an *******, he was a rude ***** and even though he failed to deliver all the stuff we ordered, he told me that it's not end of the world. It will result in delaying my renovation plan , hiring truck/contractor for one more day, take a day off etc. Anyway, then I read his reviews on yelp and he had a terrible reputation so had I read that before, I could have avoided doing business with that store. So I emailed the CEO of this massive company, owned them on twitter, abused on yelp and even emailed the selling store for explanation and now since morning I'm getting polite emails and phone calls lol. Lets see what they do but I guess it works

Laaloo Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Haven't done it but don't see why it wouldn't work. Most of the firms do care about what the consumers say in social media. Cuz it spreaks like wild fire.
veer Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 So you tweet the owner/manager/boss? or you just tweet like writing a review or make a statement about the company?
Desi Cartman Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 with the last one, I found a link to send a message to the CEO so I sent him a note, I wrote a review on yelp, emailed the store, tweeted them. Now they are trying to figure out a compromise :)

Malcolm Merlyn Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I recently retweeted a friend who was complaining about a company.
vandokkum Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I actually got a message cursing me out for writing a bad review of an employee in a Dunkin Donuts yelp page. I bought 4 hot chocolates from the drive thru and the dude gave me 4 coffees.

Desi Cartman Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 Here is my review for the concerned business I wish I had read reviews before I agreed to pick up my stock from this store. Staff is rude, they make mistakes and dont even have promised/paid for stock and then bully the customer. After wasting my time and money, I was told that its just 2 hrs of my day and its not "end of the world"
vandokkum Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Here is my review for the concerned business Damn.. where was this?
Crookbond Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I have done it twice to good effect. Once I got a refund for a bad ISP service. Recently, I have used it against IDEA Cellular networks for surcharge of bills. The trick is to know HOW and WHEN to do it. You should also play your hand really well.
Ram Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Wow, this is great strategy.I will try it out too. In fact, I will pretty much try anything in the book to keep the scumbag businesses/corporates whose only goal is to rip people off.
coffee_rules Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 for contractors and repair technicians, I use Angie's list and Service Magic. Fairly successful with no unprofessional experience.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Here is my review for the concerned business 2 hours and you complain.:headshake:
