Manjrekar's technique reminds me of a joke/anecdote I read about Viv Richards when he started playing county cricket. u can look at stats and matches and think that but tons of times dravid was only guy in team who scored runs in tough conditions when rest of team was blown away example..last english tour at his best dravid was next to only ponting in terms of consistency,maybe kallis was better :nervous: idk..

I am not doubting Dravid's credentails. Just that on some occasions like Oz '99, or generally in SA, Eng 2007, he has struglled. Does not necessarily mean that his technique was faulty. Heck who am I to doubt a player as great as him!

But Sachin was doing the same much before Dravid debuted, you missed seeing him in his prime

In fact it needs a lot of technique to be a good agressor without hitting the ball in the air but finding the gap on each shot

As rare in Indian cricket as gold mine in India. I have to say this after seeing a lot of televised domestic matches this season. Some guys like Rahul Dave from Saurasthra, Satyam Chaudhary from MP, Kaustubh Pawar from Mumbai looked okay technically and patient but lacked shots.

Sachin better overall When in form he can deal with at bowlers..was not saying Dravid is better then him but technique wise u can't fault anything with him..sachin had gr8 skill to go with tight technique shots like upper cut etc are not gr8st example of tight technique are they?..

Sachin's technique is something which is highly underrated. He had the tightest defensive technique which is the building block and that allowed him to take his game to higher skillful modes.

Technique depends a lot non reflexes of a batsman and how quickly he judges and length and line of the ball. Tendulkar had great reflexes and eye for that which batsmen like Dravid lacked and that is what makes Tendulkar a better batsman than most others.

Ofc technique is part of skill isn't it?:--D But let's compare kallis and pointing who had better technique and who was better batsman? Also define better technique? Is it to have copy book style ?or effectiveness tendulkar has gr8 technique and skill that's why he is the best but if u ask me who has the tightest technique I I will say dravid cost he was just that type of batsman Anther example could be gavaskar or Viv Richards all of u will rate as Richards better but gavaskar is known for his technique isn't he? Tendulkar is somewhere in between with tight defence and way he covers swing but also plays risky shots which work for him and might not work for others and ur not coached those things... You can have a sound technique and be an aggressive player and you can be a defensive player with a sloppy technique.
