kubrickian Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 This looks like a quota squad than anything else. Drop Gambhir, bring in Shikhar Dhawan because he is from Delhi. Pick Dinda because he is from Bengal and Murali Vijay because he is from TN. So many poor selections. Sreesanth, Wasim Jaffer should have been selected.
CG Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Dhawan deserves a chance he plays short ball decently too. Also he is not even going to play its again going to be vijay and he will fail as always.
CG Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Shami ahmed should have been first choice then pankaj singh/Pandey then Ishant. It seems selectors are picking test side on basis of odi performances.
SLICKR392 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 How does Shami miss out ? The higher you jump the more shots you get in the test side. Seems like Dinda out "jumped" Shami.
PSB_Zone Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I think dhawan's inclusion is fair...Jaffer is 35 which goes against him..sehwag cant open ,he should bat at no. 5.ideally he should be dropped.. Dhawan vijay pujara sachin sehwag kohli dhoni ashwin bhajji ishant ojha

Dhawan vijay pujara sachin sehwag kohli dhoni ashwin bhajji ishant ojha Dhawan and Vijay - worst possible opening pair in tests. Bowling will be licking their lips seeing these two open the innings for India. :hehe:
Cevno Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Got to hope Pujara, SRT and Kohli are in form for this series or it could very well be a 4-0 trouncing at home.
PSB_Zone Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Dhawan and Vijay - worst possible opening pair in tests. Bowling will be licking their lips seeing these two open the innings for India. :hehe: so can we loss worst then 8-0 in 8 test matches & that to one sided matches nothing is worst then tht so change is inevitable..
urbestfriend Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I don't understand age based selection..Jaffer is 35, lets not select him..Though he is in fine form this season..
CG Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 so can we loss worst then 8-0 in 8 test matches & that to one sided matches nothing is worst then tht so change is inevitable.. When the captain who presided over the defeats is not removed,You will see more such whitewashes.
Sidhoni Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The bowling is the worrying part. Batting won't be much of a problem at home and we do have good batsmen in the team.
CG Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Got to hope Pujara' date=' SRT and Kohli are in form for this series or it could very well be a 4-0 trouncing at home.[/quote'] Aussie should win comfortably 2-0 or 3-0.
PSB_Zone Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 When the captain who presided over the defeats is not removed' date='You will see more such whitewashes.[/quote'] A captain is only as good as the team..dhoni is a wicketkeeper batsman not a pure batsman..saha kartik and co are still no way near him.. Who are the options to captain india? I do think dhoni will be good with young team coz he can announce himself then..
Lord Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The bowling is the worrying part. Batting won't be much of a problem at home and we do have good batsmen in the team. I dont expect 400+ score from this lineup
CG Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 A captain is only as good as the team..dhoni is a wicketkeeper batsman not a pure batsman..saha kartik and co are still no way near him.. Who are the options to captain india? Anybody can captain then why dhoni if captain is as good as his team. Are u forgetting ur change mantra.what hypocrisy.:giggle: Hamne bahut dekh liya dhoni ki announcement.
Cevno Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 "Test cricket is entirely different and if you look at someone like Bhuvneshwar, he can be effective in specific conditions. To play him in Tests, you need to have a look at the conditions. Like if we are playing in England, New Zealand or South Africa where the ball swings and seams, he can be considered but on sub-continental tracks he would need to alter the length which he bowls," Dhoni explained. This is what Dhoni said about BK after last ODI against England. He'll play Dinda ahead of him. Or 4 spinners again.
youngindia Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 good decision not to bring back jaffer.that wud be stupidity unlimited and show a lack of vision. he is no mohinder amarnath. pacers- understand the short age of options.but dinda does not make any sense when he is ineffective. lack of pace wud be a big problem against aussies.
PSB_Zone Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Anybody can captain then why dhoni if captain is as good as his team. Are u forgetting ur change mantra.what hypocrisy.:giggle:[/QUOT Remove these oldies like sachin and sehwag and then see..There reflexes are gone.. Dhoni will be very good with the young team.
Cevno Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Nobody has questioned his selection yet here but Ishant averaged 76 with the ball last year.
