The Outsider Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I will believe Dhoni's (stupid as it is) reasoning for including two offies than the Lahori logic being presented about CSK and Rhiti any day. You guys are sounding worse than P@kis. Yeah only in Pakiland can the president of cricket also own a franchise and selectors are on record talking about his interference in selection. Oh wait, that wasn't Pakiland that was Tamizh land.
yoda Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Yeah only in Pakiland can the president of cricket also own a franchise and selectors are on record talking about his interference in selection. Oh wait' date=' that wasn't Pakiland that was Tamizh land.[/quote'] What does that have to do with this thread and inclusion of Ojha in the XI? Dhoni says it is because he loves two offies. Are you saying it is because Srini asked Dhoni to pick Harby over Ojha? Then I call P@ki logic on you cause it is conspiracy with no evidence which is what the green goblins do routinely. If you think Babus didn't interfere with selections in the past you are delusional. Anyone with powers in India can and will abuse it.
CSK Fan Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 All of your points are very easily answered Why is Ishant in the team without any CSK or Rhiti connection despite sucking majorly? Who else can take his place, he wouldnt have been in if Yadav was not injured How did B. Kumar make the team without any CSK or Rhiti connection? Because he proved himself. Despite the captain being very biased, there is only so many times he can ignore a talent, particularly if he still wants to win to keep his place Why is Raina out of the test team despite CSK connection? Raina has already been given many, many undeserved chances. He was dropped because even Dhoni couldnt protect him. Rest assured he will still be back first chance Dhoni gets and he will get more chances than Yuvraj Why is Dhawan in the team without any CSK or Rhiti connection? See point for Bhuvneswar Kumar. Everyone can already see how biased Dhoni's selection are, he cannot afford to make it even more obvious The huge bias towards rhiti sports and CSK is clear to all but you. Clealry Dhoni cannot make a Rhiti sports XI without it being too obvious, which is the points you make in your post

Yeah, Dhoni selecting the useless piece of crap is as simple as playing two off spinners. I really want to believe you in the spirit of Tamizh solidarity.
yoda Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Yeah' date=' Dhoni selecting the useless piece of crap is as simple as playing two off spinners. Clealry Dhoni cannot make a Rhiti sports XI without it being too obvious, which is the points you make in your post Yes yes, Jadeja scores domestic triples, but he gets selected cause of CSK. Ashwin got into the team in the first place only because of CSK and his awesome tamizh connection. Vijay ofc is the useless piece of cr@p who doesn't even know how to hold a bat despite scoring a 100 against the aussies and in the last 2 Iranis, obviously CSK connection, ... It all makes sense, however only in delusional land.

Even Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Ajit Agarkar have a Test hundred ffs, Bhajji actually has two. What else has Vijay done in international cricket, exactly? And what did he do in the Ranji Trophy this season as you are so keen to point out the Irani hundreds? Its blatantly obvious why a rubbish player like Murali Vijay keeps getting into the Indian side no matter how much you delude yourself.
asterix Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Yeah Mooli scoring 2 100s should get a free ticket ahead of others who've been languishing for long achieving much better than Mooli. What about the Sambar dinner party Mooli threw for Srini mama the other day?

Crookbond Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 50th over in Test cricket for Ishant Sharma without taking a wicket.

I am not defending his selection, but there is no evidence of any CSK connection. Yes we are good at recycling players who haven't done much to deserve a selection, and Vijay and Harbhajan are not the first in our cricketing history. Yuvraj sucked in tests, yet kept coming back. What connection was that? Ishant has sucked the longest in tests, why does he keep getting picked? Didn't RP Singh get picked a while back with practically nothing to show for to deserve another selection?

Didn't RP Singh get picked a while back with practically nothing to show for to deserve another selection? I agree. Its usually Dhoni favoring some of his favorites like Rohit Sharma, Jadeja, Raina, Yuvraj, Bhajji, Ishant over others like Rahane, Pujara, Ojha or Manoj Tiwary rather than TN or CSK connection. But still, M Vijay was a terrible choice and looked like a clear quota selection. He was in pathetic form in Ranji this season and he is going to fail once more against the pace of Pattinson, Starc, Siddle etc. I'm not against TN cricketers or players from any other state just for the record. I want the team to do well and for that, only the best should be selected and not on the basis of connections.
Pagalpanti Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Ojha is a better bowler but the opposition team composition and our own team composition favours bhajji atm. Given opp have 4 lefties and our batting is weaker with Jadeja at 7, so naturally Bhajji gets in ahead due to his batting capabilities as well.

Also he did very well.

He only scores when other batsmen have scored too so not much use anyways
Sooda Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Dhawan for all his domestic runs did not look convincing in the ODIs he has played for India, really troubled by Roach in WI. And Vijay has test experience to go with the recent Irani hundred. If anything from the outset Mukund should have been in this squad instead of MV. He was technically flawed but showed grit in the few tests ha played. But I can see why Vijay was picked instead of Dhawan...

Though he didn't do much, but it's not like others on the tour did much which included Rohit Sharma, Rahane, and Dhawan. The most successful from these tours was Pujara and Rayudu.
div Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 County cricket- Ojha > Bhajji Against England- Ojha > Bhajji Against Australia - Bhajji > Ojha
b555 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Apparently bowling better than everyone else didn't work for him. Ask what special services Jadeja gave to dhoni and bcci officials and he should do the same
