CG
No need. Australia never had raging turners . Neither did SA. But some Australian side did manage to play well in India until recently . Good teams play well everywhere regardless of home conditions. 1980s windies' date=' 2000 Aussies, now south africans.[/quote'] Yeah australia did not have raging turners but They had a variety of wickets from brisbane to sydney each with diff characteristics.Good Fast bowling has been the a given in all good sides,Which we have to develop to be the best in the world .It should be the aim of the team to dominate world cricket. Lord
No' date=' in the first step you prepare pitches assisting pacers only for domestic matches and for intl cricket continue playing on spin friendly pitches. Gradually as the younger players start coming in to national team who have been bred on sporting pitches, start preparing more sporting pitches for Tests as well (initially 1 sporting pitch for a series and gradually moving over to 2-3 pacy pitches) but IMO we should never let go of our spin advantage fully.[/quote'] that I agree.domestic pitches should assist seamers Link to comment

They should ensure domestic matches are played on pitches which assist pacers and help develop batsmen with adequate technique to perform well outside the subcontinent. Link to comment

I think the pitches were better this time, which reflect is so many seamers having good seasons.Mumbai n Rajkot were pattas though, which is sad Link to comment

Or the best approach would be that every Ranji game would be played on a pitch either prepared by or certified by BCCI pitch committee. Points should be docked and matches moved to a different venue for associations which don't follow the rules laid out. Link to comment

It all depends on which season you play. Bangalore, Eden Gardens do help seamers. But problem with India is usually the pitch offers assistance only for brief period on day one. So it becomes a lottery. Remember Ahmedabad test where SA bowled us out for 76 runs. After first session pitch became a batting beauty. Best option is to send your fast bowlers to play county cricket. THey get exposure to both conditions and different pitches. Link to comment

Laaloo
^You can't really compare Ahmedabad pitch with bangalore and eden gardens. The curators just left a bit of grass on that Ahmedabad pitch and we were rolled out by Steyn and company. Bangalore, Eden gardens, mumbai, and mohali are true pitches with true bounce. Crookbond
Jadeja's Cricinfo profile - I kid you not! :omg: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." A fellow Gujarati, Mahatma Gandhi, could well have meant to say this about Ravindra Jadeja. The best of observers ignored his steady left-arm spin at first, then he was ridiculed for his three triple-centuries in Ranji Trophy, the idea of Jadeja the Test player was contested when India gave him debut in 2012-13 against conventional wisdom, but in India's series win against Australia Jadeja won them all over, not least by dismissing Michael Clarke five times out of the six he batted. The ridicule of Jadeja's triples - more than any Indian has ever hit in first-class cricket - was actually an indictment of Indian domestic cricket, that a batsman proven to be limited in his days in international cricket could notch up triples with ease because of the quality of tracks and attacks. However, his record with the ball in ODIs, his fielding and his rocket arm made him a valuable player in shorter formats, which shows in his US$2 million price tag at Chennai Super Kings. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/234675.html Link to comment
