NareshK Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 We need wickets which assist pace, bounce and movement in IPL. This is the best way to prepare for Champions trophy and World Cup. Most of the best bowlers like Steyn, Morkel, Brett Lee, Dirk Nannes, Fidel Edwards, Tim Southee, Bolliger, Kulasekara etc will be there. So its the best possible practice for Indian batsmen and domestic batsmen against them. Also, it will be a great learning experience for young seamers like Umesh Yadav, B Kumar, Shami Ahmed, Ishwar Pandey, Pankaj Singh etc to bowl against the best batsmen in the world and learn from this experience. If they prepare the same old flat tracks, then not much can be gained.

G_B_ Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 i dont think you can simply prepare a pitch at the a drop of a hat. The tests are close between. We have August period free. Maybe call somebody like SL to play on fast pacy pitches in 2 tests

Wickets in rest of the country other than Mohali and Delhi can be prepared as there is 1 month to go.

Rajasthan, Chennai and Kolkata were slow and low throughout.

Conditions in Aus, England, SA will have lot more pace and bounce compared to wickets in India which are much more slow and low like Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad etc. That's why our teams struggle over there and Champions trophy and World Cup are scheduled to be played there next. Mumbai track has always been a wicket with pace and bounce. So its not as if these type of tracks cant be produced at least for T20s.

Bowllers will still bowl 4 overs imo ipl is just for entertainment dont expect any one to improve there or anything Only good thing is we get to see young players in action thats it...

That is quiet a conundrum. its all about standing out from the crowd really. If a side decided to pack their foreign players and squad with premier pace bowlers then IMO its a ploy worth having. For eg if CSK do visit mumbai then we need to make seaming tracks to dent the csk spinners and batsman. Mumbai do have Malinga Johnson etc to can inflict damage.

Yar in t20 u cant prepare good tracks Tracks which will actually be challenging will lead to bad t20 cricket Also playing 6 balls against top bowler is nothing.. They will learn from. Them im sure by staying close but t20 cricket is joke specially ipl
