I do not mind such a decision if it is a repeat offence in this case (ie these players were warned at the first instance and then suspended), but to act with an iron-fist on the first offence related to something that just started with an impromptu requirement imposed on the day following a test match loss is not ideal Imo this will leave scars on their team for some time to follow.... How do you expect your best bowler to get along with clarke and arthur after this episode no matter how professional these guys may be?

Clarke instead asked everyone to join an official yatch party by Packer. Hussey didn't want to go, Watson joined him and soon a lot of others also said they would stay back. Clarke than got that private party converted into an official CA party and everyone had to go. In the end only Siddle and Hussey din't go. Clarke thought Watson was trying to get the team behind him.. Was widely reported in the Aussie media, Rob or any other Aussie on the forum could you pls confirm it? yes heard same story. rubbish situation to be in.
