PakSwinger Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 finally ends...i hope now it remains open ..no other team being the dominant one
DomainK Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Ponting looked a broken man today after the match. He had to see the great team become an ordinary one. He had to lead the team from total world dominance to this day. His own form has been bad lately with the bat. His captaincy has been average. One has to admire looking back at what they achieved in all these years. Steve Waugh's team was the best cricket has ever seen. We will never see such a team or such dominance again.
Aaku Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 ausssiessss :finger: INDIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :yay:

Looked close to crying at various points in the last 2-3 overs.
Moncy Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 It's kinda happy sad moment :(( :isalute: Me too :(( I really feel so sorry for Ponting and Lee :(( I have been rooting for Oz since '97. It's the first time that Oz got knocked out since '92. I can say that this is the end of Aussie Era without doubts. It's really sad that Ponting was booed when giving a post match presentation :( He's a legend, no doubts. I hope Lee will come back in IPL4 and take a lot of wickets... Which IPL team is Lee playing for?
cowboysfan Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 It will end when we beat them in the test series in Australia this year.
putrevus Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 they had done enough winning unlike West Indies of 1980s who were clearly most talented side ever to play this game. Aussie dominance was more due to their fighting skills and mental toughness and less due to superior skills compare to WI team. That WI team had no match at all and this Aussie side could have been beaten many times in world cup except other teams choked and gifted them wins. Even today Lee dive to save that boundary showed their resilience.

Which IPL team is Lee playing for? Yeah same here, I have been rooting for them ever since 1996, watched the final and was praying for Warney to take a wicket but Ranatunga and De silva won the game. Watched Punter bat when he was a young teenager with a French cut and now seeing him getting boed in his last world cup after scoring a magnificent century was hurtful:(( Shameless and pathetic crowd. What I admired is how Lee didn't give up, diving for the ball and getting a cut in his eyebrow, punter being committed 100% till the very end, not giving up. Punter and Lee will be missed. Lee is playing for :kkr: I opened the kkr thread, support kkr in IPL :((

It was so hurtful :(( Man :(( It's unbelievable that Oz failed to make it to the SFs for the first since '92. Hope they will bounce back with a lot stronger side. Their 2 disappointing losses in this WC will serve as a big wake up call. They should fix up their stupid selection policy. Not sure if Clarke is a right guy to become the next Oz captain after Ponting retires. Looks like I will root for KKR :D :D :D
King Tendulkar Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 47 all out. Can't believe how much the era has not just ended but totally crumbled. Shocking!
Rightarmfast Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I'd prefer a dominant Aussie side anyday to this fake ' Rest of the World ' team, called by few as " England team " . Really sad ! Have no hatred towards them.
Bradman99 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 The problem is we need to start our new era, but we still have the older players such as Ponting, Hussey and Haddin around who are just not performing at test level. Add Johnson to that list as well, who has been poor for quite some time, far too inconsistent to be considered a regular. Then we drop our one senior player who actually had been performing in Katich. I know it was because of Clarke, but stilll.. They should have sorted out their differences, they don't need to be best friends. As a captain, it's dissapointing to think that he can not be professional enough to accept that he will not be best friends with every teammate. We should be looking at integrating the likes of T Paine, Khawaja and Cummins into the side. I would rather see them struggle but gain experience, as oppose to seeing our senior members constantly struggle.
Cricket Tragic Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 We'll take Johnson if you don't want him. Atleast he has the odd good day.
