Just that the good ones people bump but when they are found short they just don't bump the thread. What good is a man that doesn't contradict?

And taking 1 test series in Australia where Lee and Symonds were not at 100% and Clark didnt play i think is being impulsive and not looking at the bigger picture. Watson, Clark were injured, Lee and Symonds were clearly not at 100% for the Aus series(Symonds could barely run lol). Theres some depth and experience there that Australia were missing, Watson or Symonds if fit would slot straight in for Ronald Mcdonald, Lee and Clark would probably replace Hilfy and Siddle. Let me pause for a sec here to say they have done a terrific job being thrust into the Aussie side up against 1 of the best Test sides in the world, SA, true it was a home series, but Siddle's Test average has been good at 26.25 with an econ rate of 2.66 over his 6 Tests, and he is continuing his solid performance in SA. I think a full strength Aussie side will still be stiff competition in all Cricketing formats, overall they have come back to the pack, between India, SA, Australia its always going to be a very tight game. But to say they are down and out after 1 Test loss is to render an opinion without looking at a lot of other factors. The ashes:- Hughes Katich Ponting Clarke Hussey Symonds/North - tough call on the all rounder - Watson currently isnt bowling so i left him off the list Haddin Johnson - yes Johnson should bat b4 Lee :winky: Lee - depending on fitness Clark - depending on fitness Mcgain/Siddle

Like my thread states accuratley IT IS THE END OF AN ERA. They are not dominant and will not be with some of the chumps they have in the side. Yes they will still win loads of games but will not dominant as they did. They have come back to the pack and now have dropped behind India for one. Their pathetic batting in this latest test is evidence enough!

Not down to particularly great aussie play. I repeat what i have said consistently said in this thread. They will still be competitive and win many games. But they will certainly not be dominant. I also see signs of serious further detioration of the aussies. Some of the players they are bringing in are terrible and a shadow of their former players. Every month I watch them they seem to get worse IMO. Mcdonald and MCgain are awful. Siddle a journey man. Haddin awful glove work. Katich painful. Jacques will be exposed and Hussey OAP. They still have many problems. They will still win the ashes but that is due to England being exceptionally bad

From 5-0 last time they are headed towards 3-3 this time despite winning all the tosses, are on the verge of a huge innings defeat in the current test, their latest spinner got caned into oblivion yet again, and of the three wins one was by taking 19 wickets and 7 balls remaining, and two on the back of a debutant whose technique will be analyzed over a period of time. And you are asking me questions?

There is no spin - you are digressing from the topic which is the decline of the Aussies from their prime a few years ago. Them winning a series against South Africa does not mean they have not declined.

Seeing such a great cricketing nation allowing the opposition to win without making them even bat twice. Its is saddening to see such a a great empire crumble so quickly to the status of simply just one of the pack. This is often the way with big powers, when they fall they fall big! I am gutted about it all!!!
