IPL tickets are sold through CCD outlets and at a few other retail chains but not Test tickets.
Because obviously the demand for tickets is much much more for IPL matches than test cricket.

hold n ODI there n its a full house
:agree: I get your point but we are talking about stadiums which generate "crowds" for Test cricket. It is mutually independent of ODI, T20 or gully cricket.

Been to Kotla on match days? Huge crowds wait outside the stadium to find a way to buy tickets..tickets are not sold at the stadium but 2 Kms away from it in a small bank branch where within 15 minutes all tickets are 'sold out' and then sold in black at 5 times the original price. You telling me these people will not buy tickets if they r sold through retail outlets?

On weekends' date=' yes. Otherwise it was just a decent crowd for those 2 matches, nothing good.[/quote'] That's fine for Test matches - we don't need 194% capacity.

Thank god. I have been waiting for a thread like this to be created questioning Mohali and Nagpur's poor test attendance.
why didnt you make it yourself?:dontknow:

Nagpur Test v England didnt have much crowd either
that is because of transportation issues as the stadium is in outskirts and no great transportation.

Well since im new here, I thought I would wait. Anyway, even that epic test match against Australia in 2010 had poor attendance.

where do these issues go when an ODI is held there?

Mohali and Nagpur are like like what Darwin and Hobart are regarding poor attendance in India. This wont go down well with some people here, but I believe that matches should not be held in these places. Even Dhoni commented how refreshing it was to see a great test crowd in Bangalore when we played Australia in 2010. I remember he wanted test matches to be held in venues like Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

Those queues were before T20 entered into the picture as the more popular form of Indian cricket. The last test in Kotla between Ind and WI was specifically mentioned for a bad crowd.
