CSK Fan Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 BTW, wont it also be a massive advantage to CSK, as other teams will have to bench good Sri Lankan players while playing Chennai on their home turf. Why not move matches out of chennai?

Debutant Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 A team like Mumbai Indians have to bench one of their star players - Malinga because Chennai is incapable of hosting matches. This is not fair at all. MI should be allowed to nominate any one CSK player who can not play in that particular match. Then it will be fair. MI should demand that Raina/Morkel/Sir Highness should be benched in the CSK match
thongale Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 All this is a political circus in TN IMO. Any way SL - IND ties are getting worse by the day.

I wont be too surprised if all SL players play in Chennai.

Its kinda pathetic that this is happening. CSK matches should have been moved out but that was never gonna happen. I dont think its about unfair advantage or cheating, its just finances. Moving out CSK games would have been a fatal blow to 1/3rd of CSK's income. Even if Murali was still playing in CSK, it wouldn't have changed the decision. Certain franchises get away with a lot. RCB get gayle for a pittance "salary", MI getting 5 overseas slots and now CSK.

PBN Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Like I said before, the 'quartfinals' and the first semifinal will be held in Chennai. So if Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad qualify for the playoffs, they will play without their captains Include a top player like Malinga as well for Mumbai . That is a big ask for those teams. Let's see if there is a change in venue/decision. Aakash Chopra @cricketaakash 10h So, DD, PWI and Sunrisers will play their games at Chennai without their skippers. What if one of the teams qualify for the play-offs?
rageaddict Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I think SL Government should train some Sinhalese men and send them as suicide bombers to spread terror in Chennai. Only then the Chauvinists supporting this move will learn the difference between holding a terrorist attack on the city and shooting/arresting fishermen crossing the lines. Its quite obvious that the fishermen issue is only being used to mask the real reason which is the ill-treatment of Tamils in SL. There are plenty of fishermen from Maharashtra and Gujrat that are rotting in Pakistani jails for over 30 years now but none of these states have used that as an excuse to ban all the Pakistanis, so the Eelam fans butthurt with the defeat of LTTE and murder of Tamil Eelam Pride by the Sinhalese Army should find a better excuse to defend this move. The TN assembly demanded a referendum for a Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka which goes to show their real demands. Why should there be No Sri Lankan players in TN if the demand for a separate country in SL isnt met ? What is the connection ? This Eelam mentality is as ghatiya as the Paki Ummah mentality.
yoda Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I think SL Government should train some Sinhalese men and send them as suicide bombers to spread terror in Chennai. Brilliant! :hatsoff:
nikred Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 My Tamilian colleague is very emotional about this. He said 2 lakh SL Tamils were killed in a span of 2 years. He randomly tries to bring up this topic in discussion but no one is seriously interested in Sri Lankan politics. He then starts going on a chest-thumping rant and swiftly someone changes the topic.
Ram Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 So' date=' we are discriminating against people of a particular ethnicity to protest their discrimination against people of a particular ethnicity [/quote'] Not sure what that means. Boycott is a very effective form of getting people to do the right thing. South African athletes were boycotted and barred from attending international sports gathering during apartheid. Now, whether this particular move by the TN actually has any worthwhile intentions or is for pure political points, that is a different story. IMO, this move has come 5 years too late. If they wanted to protest the treatment of tamils, they should have done it when the actual killings were going on. Making symbolic gestures is quite useless now.

someone Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Remember there was the Telangana (Hyderabad) issue and that forced DC to play all their home matches at Mumbai. Similar should have happened in this case where CSK should have played their home matches elsewhere. And is the Sri Lanka players banned from entering Tamil Nadu or are they banned from playing the stadium itself?
Vilander Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Yep we are the ones shooting children in cold blood or bomb schools in the name of war
Vilander Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Disgusting behavior from the Tamil groups involved in this. Support for a terrorist organization like LTTE, protests against the hanging of the killers of the PM of the country, and now this. All this for some issue which is not even part of India. Bunch of lunatics. there are two sides to every story, see channel 4 documentary 'killing fields of srilanka'.

Vilander Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Srilankans will play in chennai, there will be no incident in chennai ever. The fact that Indians in general dislike tamils because of perceived skin color difference is quite striking. Jaya and karuna are pigs but so are sonia and advani..what is new in this, they are politicians.
