Worst and Best Stadiums in India, Please rate

This based on the Build, viewing angle, Proper shading, box seats, Size of the city it belongs to etc... Here are my rating 1, FSC, in Delhi must be the worst in World, 2, Guwahati Cricket stadium, 3, Jaipur, 4, Kanpur, 5, Cuttack 6, Wankhede (Its better compared to this list but still not good enough for Mumbai) . . Best Stadiums 1, DY Patil, Mumbai 2, Nagpur, 3, Dharmashala 4, Pune, 5, Chennai, 6, Rajkot, . . . 5, Rajkot

Best DY Patil (although its very far) Worst Brabourne. Its got cement slabs for seats. And the few plastic seats in the VIP enclosure that remain are canvases for creative art by crows, pigeons, cricket fans and other animals who call Mumbai home. Been there for a few IPL games and a Zubin Mehta concert years ago. Saw paint peeling off and small cement pieces falling off where the loud speakers were kept. And don't even get me started on the toilets. Or the polite, ever smiling people at the box office.

Kotla. They have lot of funds but stupids can even improve the stadium. They produce worst pitches in the country.Dharmashala is the best in the country. If can include airports Mumbai airport is the worst.It stinks.

I have been to Brabourne and if your a Cricket club of India member its fantastic. But outside the main stand (or grandstand) its horrible for the spectators. I back you on the toilets, remember going there for an ipl match and the toilets were in such a bad condition that i decided to hold it in. The new Wankhede is awesome. Only issue is size. 33,000 is just not big enough for mumbai. but when it comes to other things like public transport roof amenities within the stadium its great.

Chennai in the past would say below average. But after the recent revamp has been excellent. The newly build stands are excellently planned But the big issue is the quality of food and water. Well below the standard unfortunately despite the prices being quite high One big adv with the stadium is transportation

But haven't heard him say anything positive about the stadium. If you're a Mumbai resident, there is another issue with the Brabourne- parking. You just can't get parking in and around the stadium. And if you do, you have to wait for 2-3 hours after the event so that everyone else has gotten their vehicles out of the way and you can finally leave. :mad:

My father in law is a member. But haven't heard him say anything positive about the stadium. If you're a Mumbai resident, there is another issue with the Brabourne- parking. You just can't get parking in and around the stadium. And if you do, you have to wait for 2-3 hours after the event so that everyone else has gotten their vehicles out of the way and you can finally leave. :mad: Been to the inaugural match at the New Wankhede- the WC Final and a few IPL games. Its nowhere as good to the DY Patil in terms of seating, comfort, atmosphere or view. Even the giant tele-screens are placed very oddly. In a sunspot actually, you can barely see anything on the screen off Merchant stand if you're seated opposite it till sundown. If you leave aside the ridiculous distance you have to cover just to get there, DY Patil is a winner for me.

parking is an issue with wankhede as well. In any case i never take a car during games. Prefer to walk from churchgate so dont know about that. Where i was sat in Wankhede (North stand) things were fine for me. Clear view and good seats. I would rate Wankhede better than Lords and the Oval (i have also been there). and yes DY patil (i have also been there) is the best stadium around. But crossing the vashi bridge after a match is a big pain. Me and my friends tried avoiding it and using the aeroli bridge but even that was choked.

Dharamsala is a TV-friendly stadium. Extremely ordinary in terms of viewer comfort.

Heard a lot about this stadium... I hope it starts hosting international matches as well sometime in the future.

The worst is Feroz Shah Kotla - it's impossible to get tickets for any match there even when you watch on TV that the stadium is 75% empty because officially all seats have been sold out. Best would be Mohali - just for watching Warne live in '96 SF.

Stadiums in order of personal viewing experience: 1) Jamtha Stadium, Nagpur - Has enough legspace and cushioned seats to last for 5 days. Food management is terrible. Still one of my favourite stadiums. 2) Eden Gardens - The fun-nest crowd and reactions you can get if you understand the local language. 3) Subroto Roy Sahara Stadium - Awesome open air stadium. Superb for D/N matches specially 4) Wankhede Stadium - Okay stadium. Has a great festive crowd which keep things alive. 5) Dharamsala Stadium - Ordinary everything, except the view of Dhauladhar (which you get bored of in half an hour) . Stuffy seats, tiny videoscreen, tiny sight screen (that means if you are facing the batsman, you wave your hand from the first tier and he gets distracted and whines), horrible food and loo management, and the people around you have very little clue about cricket. 6) DY Patil - A bit of a walk, but a neat stadium 7) Feroz Shah Kotla - The new Kotla seemed quite decent under lights. 8) Sawai ManSingh Stadium, Jaipur - Nice 9) Brabourne Stadium - Cement benches, but has old world charm. 10) Motera, Ahmedabad - Hell-hole

Best: 1. D Y PATIL, Navi Mumbai 2. Jamtha, Nagpur 3. The ground at Vishakapatnam 4. Mohali (especially in winter games) 5. Jaipur 6. Ranchi 7. New Wankhede 8. Ground at Holkar, Indore looks good on TV , don't know how it is really 9. Sahara Ground Pune 10. Rajkot, again good on TV, don't know the realities yet. 11. HCA Ground, Hyderabad Worst: 1. Motera, Ahmedabad 2. Guwahati 3. Kochi, though improved a lot 4. Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi 5. Green Park, Kanpur 6. Cuttack, though improved a lot 7. Football ground in Goa, where we get the occasional ODIs.
