Is Srinath the best Fast bowler India ever produced?

Between Zak and Srinath.. both had some advantages. Zak had more guile. more aggression. Srinath is probably the most timid fast bowler i have seen. He would almost go and apologize to batsman for getting a batsman out . Having said that on certain surfaces Srinath can be dangerous .His natural stock delivery was Inswinger from just short of a length. Boy he could extract lot of bounce from the spot. With a bit more variety and guile he could have been our own Walsh.

Now I have read everything. Bit more guile, bit more variety - an extra yard of pace. A new heart to keep bowling all day. Dev, Zaheer Khan and Srinath combined dont equal Walsh.

I'd watch the match you fool. Sadly, that means suffering through bowlers like him too. You and you alone think Srinath was a quality pacer. Ditto Kapil Dev who was barely a medium pacer who played so many games he had to collect take wickets!

No way! Kapildev took on the best team of his era with consummate ease. Lack of support bowlers made Kapil a lone warrior and this made him less effective (especially while playing away) than he really was. He averages around 26 in 65 matches played on flat/spin tracks of India - which is as good as an average of 22-23 in my opinion. After his knee injury in 83, he lost pace and aggression and he could never achieve his potential. Kapildev>Srinath>Zaheer
