I have literally lost count of how many rape incidents are coming out from this place. Read somewhere that since Jan, 393 rape cases have been registered. That is more than 4 cases per day. Seriously whats wrong with these people?

only 2 women are safe in Delhi.. Sheila Dixit and Sonia. Even Mamta Banarjee had to cut down her Delhi trip and on her return said that Delhi is not safe.lolz

It is not rape capital of India. Only in delhi these things are coming to attention through media. But other states the usual thing is happening. All brushed under the carpet. No doubt with men in power the biggest perpetrators , yet due to power nothing happens etc etc

its a shame for all indians
Its the act of one individual. How are others responsible for it ? He acted on his will and nobody forced him to do it. Dont over exaggerate and say shame to others. I dont understand this stupid logic.

i remember when the delhi gangrape victim was lying on the streets naked with her friend for over an hour on the side of a freeway, not one person stopped to help. it may be the act of one individual, but we as a society are indifferent to rapes, blame it on the victim, and move on with life. thats why i feel at some level, we are responsible for the continuation of such incidents

Actually no, most women who have lived in many states have all mentioned how they feel unsafe in Delhi. One of my close friends was saying how she did not dare wear a skirt even when she was 13 years old because by the time she reached home, her thighs would be red because of being pinched. They never felt the same danger in Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai or other cities. Men's attitude to women is pathetic but what's worse is how the otherwise spunky Delhi women have calmly accepted the situation and compromise everyday. The same thing if attempted in Kolkata would have earned the perperator a beating in Kolkata. So in a way, shame on the Delhi women too for not saying enough is enough.

Delhi police is the worst dealing the rape cases, beating the women protesters, offering money to the family of rape victim and not willing to take sufficient actions against the rapists without protest from the public. All these things shows delhi police are ******idiots

It's strange time to be in this country. I don't want to single out Delhi. But yes there is major problem there.
I agree. This is not only a huge law and order question but looks like it is feeding on itself. You almost get a sense that these incidents are actually acting as inspiration to criminals instead of deterrent. Delhi is the worst but situation is hardly better in most other parts.

All massive massive tip of iceberg. Most abuses happen by family member, a completely undected crime in Inda, even families brush this under carpet not just police. And lets not even start with what must happen to street children!!!!
