Sachin=GOD Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Akhtar was much quicker and a bigger cheat than Waqar ever was. corrected.
panther Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Akhtar was much quicker than Waqar ever was. PrjBd-zK-sA Look at this pace at least 150+
ravishingravi Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Waqar in early 90s is quickest I have seen.
rkt.india Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 PrjBd-zK-sA[/youtub Look at this pace at least 150+ No. Look at the difference in pace of two deliveries of Waqar and Shoaib. Shoaib had sheer pace, less reverse. Waqar had more reverse which is difficult to play even at 140k. Dont think Waqar was ever as quick as Shoaib. Probably, 140-145 bowler at his best, may be occasionally quicker than that, but not 150+.
rkt.india Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Waqar in early 90s is quickest I have seen. Yeah. We did not have many really quick 90 mph or plus bowlers in early 90s, Waqar till his back injury, Donald, Devon Malcolm, Srinath who did not play much till Kapil and Prabhakar were there, and Bishop for a brief period come to mind.

By that I mean once in a while they could bowl at 150+.

Even likes of Yadav, Siddle, Pattinson, Best, Roach, Gabriel, Cummins can do that. Akhtar could do that any day of the week at his best. My point is, it was not his pace which made him that successful bowler in early 90s, but the reverse he used to get which would beat the batsmen with his accurate inswinging yorkers and all know how they used to make the ball to get reverse.:winky:
rkt.india Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 waqar was a lot better bowler when ever things got tough shoaib would often walk off the park with some excuse Shoaib lacked fitness. His body was fragile with loose limbs and was not made to bowl that quick but he had the gift of bowling quick.
tweaker Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Waqar was more fast than Shoaib, but he had too many injuries
King Tendulkar Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Shoaib was a chucker. Lets not forget that
