Match fixing by buying off and threatening players from other franchises ............... ................ ....................... 1001. Dhoni
CSK Fan Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Reasons for CSK's success: 1. Bid for good/great players like Dhoni, Raina, Murali etc in the initial auction and retain core talent 2. Pick wisely in auctions including getting their own players like Hussey back 3. Get good players discarded by other teams namely Bravo 4. Pick foreigners who will be available most of the season and not those who just show up for a week or two 5. Keep a consistent core lineup and only make minor adjustments due to injuries, lack of form, availability, etc 6. Good management led by Fleming Dhoni's captaincy, especially in the previous IPL seasons has been questionable. This year batting wise he has been a monster, but to attribute CSK's success this year or for past years just to Dhoni is just plain dumb. His job is to not screw up the great team he has been given and be a part of the success by contributing himself with the bat and making reasonable on field decisions. All of the above is very easy to do when you first do all of the below 1. Manipulations of auctions 2. Changing of retention rules 3. Making sure other teams are not able to field their best possible sides 4. Having selector of national team in official capacity 5. Having president of BCCI as owner Above are well documented, then there are: 4. Buying off umpires 5. Match fixing by buying off and threatening players from other franchises ............... ................ ....................... 1001. Dhoni Of course the other teams dont have the luxury of such behind the screen manipulation and such a Godfather
