Yuvi Dropped!!!

I think its not the best decision to leave a champion player who can contribute with bat or ball or both. A true game changer... very sad for him and a bad move by Indian selectors :hitler:

He's not fit. He should take a year off and train to be fit. He once a champion fielder. Now he can't field to save his life.

then why are great fielders like Mishra,Ishant selected?

then why are great fielders like Mishra' date='Ishant selected?[/quote'] You have a point with Mishra however Ishant is match fit. We aren't talking about fielding but "match fitness".

I think basically the point is their is no real rhyme or reason for the selections. It basically all depends on the gut instincts of the selectors. Theirs no way to crack their criteria for selecting players.

:agree: That and practice/net form as well - that is something which we don't have access to.

now that you mention it thier probably is a number of different ways for experts to determin form other than just the number of runs batsman have scored. Testing player reaction time, balance timing of the shot ect.. their are moments when batsman are just unlucky like pujara in his first few test matches but he still looked in good form in those matches even though he was getting out cheaply.

Agree with those saying that Yuvi needs some time to recover. The schedule has been quite heavy on him ever since his comeback, and the fact that he has been able to keep up with it after what he went through is quite amazing. A few months of fitness training will help him a lot. BTW, speaking of Pujara, what is he up to atm?

Chalo Mishraji ko hi pakad lo.Why is he selected but Yuvi isnt?Clearly match fitness isnt a selection criteria like it is with Australia nor is it the reason for Yuvi's exclusion

Obviously, it's form (and mind you form includes a 100 other things than which you and I sitting here can see). Yuvraj - No form, no fit Mishra - form but no fit

which means they are taking IPL performances into consideration.which is sad.Mishra has always performed in IPL whereas Yuvi has always flopped.its hardly an indicator of 'form' specially when the CT is in completely different conditions

Hes not fit, not staying long enough on the crease, playing loose shots, theres very little going for him im afraid. Lets not forget its the 50 over format and I dont think hes in the best shape.

You can't discount a bowler's form even if it is IPL. However, Mishra is a poor pick. Coming back to Yuvraj it is about fitness (now read what I said before about fitness) + form as he lacks both. Why would you pick him?
