Israel bombed Damascus last night(Godknows how many dead) and Assad on the verge of declaring war against Israel. Seriously was this not the plan all along? Get rid of the Syrian government and then attack Iran? Anyways as an outside observer I'm amazed at how brilliant the Israelis are and how dumb the Arabs are. Israel always wanted to take out the Syrian government since the war of 2006 where they suffered high attrition rates at the hands of Hezbollah. 7 years later they have almost achieved that. And this time round they didn't even have to fight a war. The Isreali government used their influence in the global media, used sectarianism as a tool to get Muslims fighting against one another, funded one side, watched the destruction ensue for 2+ years and then merely waited for the right time to attack. Espionage ho to aisa! So what are the ramifications of this attack? On the surface it's Isreal v/s Syria. Syria already weakened and torn apart from 2 years of war. But what if Iran get's involved? Then we'll see America come to the party. And then what happens? Do Russia and China too get drawn into the mix? Either which way it's advantage Israel. And so I say again 'espionage ho to aisa'
panther Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Asad won't declare war. I think some chemical weapons have to be used, then the no-fly-zone comes into play. Asads weapons and defence systems get destroyed. and eventually the rebels win.

Asads weapons and defence systems get destroyed. and eventually the rebels win. That analogy is too mainstream. Everyone expects it to go down like that, but why then did Israel attack? The no-fly zone too is contentious, with constant vetoes from Russia and China.

A former senior official in the Bush administration said on Thursday the use of chemical weapons in Syria might have been a "false flag operation" of Israel, meant to implicate Syrian President Bashar Assad.
