thongale Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I have but just didn't care as he was just a part-timer....You are probably a srilankan and may be you focussed on every aspect of every player from your country, but the rest of the world just didn't care about Desilva's bowling. It is equivalent of me quoting some no-name Ranji bowler and inserting him into this list just because I thought he had an elegant actionde Silva is not a random no-name player. People who have followed cricket will know him.
maniac Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 de Silva is not a random no-name player. People who have followed cricket will know him. You don't get it do you....what if I said ajit agarkar has the best cover drive and Brett lee has the best straight drive in world cricket just because it looks aesthetically pleasing to my eyes in a thread discussing about cricketing shots. Ps:no one is taking a dig at desilva....if this was a thread about batsman,I would have said he has one of the best pull shots I have seen but as a bowler he is a part timer.....you including his bowling is your personal opinion but it kinda looks ridiculous to include a part timer with some of the other names you mentioned which until then I thought was a good list. Also the likes of Warner, akram and swan are rated by many because they make their action look so easy and elegant but still pick up a boat loads of wickets, just because a guy takes 2steps and rolls his arm over and it looks good to the eye wouldn't automatically qualify him.
Square Drive Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 de Silva is not a random no-name player. People who have followed cricket will know him. Can't agree with u on this one. He's talking about De Silva the bowler. And it's fair to say he's pretty much no-name bowler.
India-KXIP fan Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Glenn McGrath, looked so in control. From what I remember he picked wickets anywhere, took out top order. Then great Warne mostly came in to clean up only the tail and or English batsmen who are inept against spin :hehe:
