Number Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Watson has played some great knocks against Dhoni. World T20 2010 - Putting Sir Jaddu in world cricket's highlights for the first time. World T20 2012 - Hammering he gave to Pathan, Chawla, Ashwin :((, that innings was the only reason we got knocked out. 60 off 25 in IPL 2010 - M Vijay century game. 2 innings this season, both of them quality. IPL 2008 final innings - vital knock, considering it was in the final while chasing. Very consistent T20 player against MSD's teams. :giggle:
maniac Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Simple...I have said this before....Watsons cross batted hoicks work the best against darters and dhoni usually prefers to have such bowlers in his team
SLICKR392 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Simple...I have said this before....Watsons cross batted hoicks work the best against darters and dhoni usually prefers to have such bowlers in his team And what is your reason to his consistent performance in the WT20 against different attacks?
maniac Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 And what is your reason to his consistent performance in the WT20 against different attacks? Not calling him a hack....just saying why his style of batting works against dhonis team. Check his innings against Bangladesh ....further proves my point that he likes darting spinners

Check his innings against Bangladesh ....further proves my point that he likes darting spinners He does, I agree but he is usually known for his straight batted shots. The covers drives and leg drives and such. His slogs over cover are usually straight batted once.
Pagalpanti Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 If anything Ashwin flighted a lot in his 1 over-disastrous spell. Watto is a quality player, its not like he's just performed vs CSK.
I6MTW Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 But Watson has gone out to dhoni's team so many times in t20 for a score of less than 10.
Crookbond Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Watson gets very well under the ball if it's slightly short. The slow nature of the pitch and the great bat gives him a distinct advantage.

Watson generally struggles on dust bowls and Eden Gardens type of wickets. That;s why he failed in test series against us, but then generally Watson has never had a great test career.

I didn't mean spinning wickets - I meant slow/low turners.
