Bowled two crucial overs against Australia and Pakistan to turn the match around for us. Bowls in the high 80s and swings the ball both days. The ball to Akmal was just WOW! And he's just 21.

Superb find for India. Can move the ball both ways at a good speed, has a hot bouncer and can be skiddy off the surface. What I like about the chap is that he has delivered against the best in the business, and at both home and away. Way to go Gorakhpuri :two_thumbs_up:

This is why persisiting with youth is important. 6-8 months back this guy was on the outside looking in - probably played in England only because Munaf was injured. Hats off to him. Moral of the story: One needs to be lucky to not become a victim of selectors short sightedness in Indian cricket.

left handers are making a name for themselves in team India...zaheer, RP, Irfan only a few right handers are mentionable ...Munaf and Sreesanth... we need variety...and some more options... i want sreesanth to improve his bowling...he needs few more armours under his kitty... Munaf and sreesanth will be vital for the balance of our attack...

hey, he's been my boy ever since the start of the england test series! :giggle: speaking of talented young indian bowlers, is there any others upcoming bowlers in the domestic scene? i hope bcci plans a strong a rotation policy to risk injuries (i.e. nehra, balaji). And god knows that would pave the way for Agarkar to make his way back in the team. :angry_smile:

Munaf Patel shouldn't even be mentioned in the same line as RP Singh and Sreesanth, GIB. He is a perfect loser. Not just injuries, he is simply not mentally up to the rigorous task of playing international cricket. This is a bowler who terrorised domestic batsmen before he came on to the big stage, performed well in the first couple of matches, but as soon as the expectations mounted, his knees buckled. He'll go down as the greatest disappointment in recent memory. Promised so much, delivered so little. RP Singh on the other hand- what can you say! Rarely have I seen a more improved bowler. From a 80 mph trundler to what he is doing at the moment is an amazing transition. I reckon RP, Zaheer and Sreesanth are the answer to India's prayers. If all three are on song, they'll blow away sides for very few runs. For the first time in many years, I feel optimistic about our chances in the Test arena. Don't fool yourself GIB, there is a huge chasm between these three and the lot that's trying to follow them. Munaf, Pathan and co will be murdered in Tests by any decent side.

RP Singh did a great job. But I want to temper my feeling. I was as excited about Nehra too, about L.Balaji too, about Munaf Patel too. I will await with bated breath to watch how the next 2-3 years unfolds. Until then, I will not go over the top.

Yoda, Sadly thats how BCCI works. True. We need to nurture our fast bowlers, not exhaust them. But thats what BCCI will do, not pay any attn to them.
