G_B_ Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 this delayed real time thing might work. however bookies might send somebody at the ground and use mobile phones at the grounds to send information to the bookies/punters. Potentially making it more dangerous.

But delayed broadcast thing is useless & IMO is just temporary. In the end...fans will miss out. Bookies have find ways to bet right under their noses for so long...they will find ways.
1983-2011 Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 why do they want to make these girls unemployed :(( hamari ladkiyon ko jab do:protest: dalmiya hai hai
Pagalpanti Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Good stuff except for delayed telecast, not sure if that'll make for a good viewing. After all most viewership comes from TV/Internet. People at ground aren't even 1/10th of the total viewers.
saneindian Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 A noble thought but no cheerleaders and a deferred live telecast will kill the brand IPL. Not sure if the BCCI can take that hit. Also, is he as an interim president allowed to take such decisions related to IPL? Isn't the IPL governing council supposed to take these calls?
bulbul Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 IPL is improving,it will be better and bigger next year :yay: Banning cheerleaders is good move, even if Subbu mamoo changes his mind we are safe now.
yoda Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 No cheerleaders is good, but how is strategic timeout a bad thing? Just because it is sponsored? Not sure about the delayed telecast thing. However if it helps makes bookies' life difficult I am all for it.

Will be interesting to see what rules are made for auctions next year. Will teams be allowed to retain players or will everyone go back to the auction pool?

Timeouts are quite common in pro sports at least in the US. It gives players and coaches time to re-group, re-think strategy etc. Not sure it is the worst thing the IPL has to deal with right now.

Now if over the top payment for useless players reduced it will b even better.
vvvslaxman Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 just reduce the match to a 20 day affair .. have 3 matches every day be done with it.
bulbul Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 just reduce the match to a 20 day affair .. have 3 matches every day be done with it. Why? they can even play 5 matches per day and finish in a week :winky:
