Excellent decision by Advani and he should stick to it. Hope the NDA breaks apart soon. Why should NDA clean up Modi's shyte? Well we might have the "terrorist" supporter Mulayam as the PM.Hope he is more acceptable than Modi.

Modi simply does not have the capability to bring together more parties/manage the existing ones and it is Advani who, along with AtalJi, was responsible for allies like JDU and Shiv Sena joining the NDA. I wouldn't be surprised if these allies rethink their relations with a BJP led by Modi and without Advani in it.

BJP should project itself as the party for development and not of rathyatras.... Advani is the past. as for NDA...there will be a new NDA...If they have the numbers....parties will join.

Advani is the past. as for NDA...there will be a new NDA...If they have the numbers....parties will join. have mere numbers isn't enough to make parties join a coalition - the likes of Mamta, Mayawati, Nitish, Patnaik etc are big leaders in their own states and it takes a certain amount of finesse to manage their big egos - Modi only knows one way of doing things and that is his way and this doesn't work in coalition politics. Till date he has pretty much been the ruler of Gujarat with nobody in the Ministry having the power or authority to contradict him (and even if somebody did, he was shunted out soon) but in Central Politics the PM has to work within coalition constraints and has to take everyone together. Just see the example of Cong - it needed every bit of Pranab Mukherjee's negotiating skills to manage DMK/Left/Mamta etc for so many years. In the NDA Govt Vajpayee managed 23 parties :adore: Now just think for a moment about how Modi is as a leader and think of his style of functioning and then tell me - do you really think he can manage a coalition Govt. with his "my way or the highway" attitude? Besides, I really don't think there will even be a question of forming the Govt if he's the leader of the BJP in 2014 elections. IF and only IF there is a massive resurgence of the Ram Mandir issue (which I do not see happening anytime soon) can modi benefit the BJP otherwise I can predict right now that BJP under Modi's leadership won't win more than 130 Lok Sabha seats in 2014.

He resigned from the BJP posts and remember this is the 3rd time he has resigned in 8 years.:rofl: It's only JDU who is looking for reasons to break with NDA due to their own insecurities.

And actually that sentence is better applicable to LKA and Sonia Gandhi who are simply using their seniority and surname respectively as reasons for their own.
someone Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 In 2009 post elections, LKA actually thought about retiring yet the party persuaded him to stay. And LKA obliged and he understood well that the party was dependent on him. And then with all those scams, LKA thought his aspirations for PM could be true again. But then, as it turned out, the party had a popular leader and BJP took decisions to support that consensus rather than putting LKA as the last decision maker. That has caused some confusions and thus those reactions. And now he will gonna use this resignation well as a bargaining chip for the PM race. It's disappointing from LKA, I don't blame anyone for having aspirations but at least he should understand the time to quit. In India, it seems everyone (eg. sportsman) have problems in understanding the right time to quit.

It doesnt go well with his stature and he looks like a petty politician hungry for power.
