He doesnt need to be a size 0 he is not modeling for vogue! However he could be fitter as looked out of shape in ipl and series before Short term id have picked him over DK who is not long term, however got to look forward now, in India he was supreme and won us the world cup, but outside SC he gets worked out most of the time

No one is saying size 0. You know what we mean, fit!!! Atletic!!! its more a case of him not being size 40

I think one whole ranji season will do yuvi a world of good IMO He also maybe needs to move to an IPL team where there is low responsibility on him. Ie there are enough big stars in there who share the load. Got a feeling with Pune that being the sole big batsman in the ranks did not sit well with him. I do hope Mumbai go for Yuvi next season in the IPL if he is up for sale (which by the looks of which he is as pune is out) and surround him with good players so he can play some pressure free cricket.

I think he peaked at the 2011 WC. He may only be 31 but his physique and levels of fitness add another 5 years. Have to build towards the next WC and a younger fresher team minus the old generation is the way to go.

He was at his peak during that 2005-07 period and then another of his peak came in 2011. But now, his fitness and cancer recovery has taken a toll. But if he gets determined, then he can always come back to the side and he will be the best player once he gets back to his WC 2011 form. There is no one whos a better hitter of the cricket ball than Yuvi.

He can replace dinesh if he is fully fit. He gives bowling option for five overs as well. The key is "if he is fully fit". His attitude does not seem like he wants to get back into team. He is more interested in enjoying his life after cancer treatment.

not for me if he`s not fully fit,if totally fit he can replace dk but the wc is in aus where yuvi does not have a great record bcoz of the long boundaries

NO' date=' time for youngsters to shine[/quote'] DK (28) and Dhawan (27) are not really "youngsters" and neither is Rohit (26) Nor are Mishra Murali Vijay and Pathan youngsters. A youngster for me is somebody who is 25 or under. For all this talk about youth the youngest member of the Indian squad were Kohli and Jadeja at 24. What we can say if this Indian team has most of its players in the 25-30 zone whereby they are not young or old. Probably in their cricketing prime. The likes of Gambhir and Yuvi are in the same age bracket at Dhoni. No reason why they cant come back. Personally speaking considering Sir is bowling like a proper front line bowler a fit Yuvi can easily replace Mishra in the limited overs and give us another all round option.

khamkha hi pareshaan ho rahe ho. Yuvraj will be back in time for the WC. Same for Gambhir (unless Chand shows something between now and then given then he gets a chance:pray:).

They are more youngsters waiting for their spot Rahanne, Pujara, Manoj Tiwary, Chand and more right now ahead of Yuvraj, we should invest on these youngter rather going back. It time to look ahead, Yuvi has won us two WC, time to say Goodbye now

If he can regain his fitness, and prove he's still the player he was 2 years ago, (or very close), I'd love to see him back. He'll be 33 when the next World Cup comes round, so age isn't that much of a factor. Same with any of the other discarded seniors. If they can prove themselves again, after learning their places aren't guaranteed based on age old performances, fair play, welcome back...

Rahane has shown nothing in ODIs (he should stick to tests only). Tiwary is aite. I would also add Mandeep Singh and Rayudu. Plenty of bats for the ODIs. We should have a solid team.

Chand has a long way to go. Personally speaking i want him to play another 3-4 years of domestics and IPL and maybe even get a county stint before he breaks into the Indian side (if he is good enough). Get about 30 ranji games under his belt and take it from there. As things stand he has not had a stellar domestic season or IPL. Still early days though. @trundler Yuvi will be 33 by the next world cup in 2015. If he loses the weight and is physically fit. Then he should be in. Beyond 2015 world cup is another debate. Same for Gambhir he will be 32 by next world cup. If these two can show the form then IMO they need to be in the squad at the very least. In the case of Gambhir if its a case of politics and Dhoni wanting the dressing room with a single power structure then thats another issue. But i dont think he has such a problem with Yuvi. They appear to have always got on
