Dale Steyn might just be the best

He is definitely in the top five for mine, or at least very very close. Everyone has a bad stat somewhere, and stats by nature are prone to misuse. Just consider this : he has the best strike rate out of anyone who has taken a minimum of 200 wickets. Ever. Correct me if I am wrong please. If you throw in the fact that he averages 22 or 23 in an era that is supposedly pro-batsmen, it isn't hard to imagine him in the top 5 fast bowlers of all time. The best batting side that Dale Steyn has come up against was India, back when they were number 1. He was exceptional in that Nagpur test. Admittedly, he needed a change in ball but that shouldn't detract from the fact that he was extraordinary against the best batting side (IIRC one of Laxman/Dravid missed that test but still) in their own conditions. McGrath, Marshall, Steyn, Hadlee, Imran have to be right up there.

Steyn-Philander are scary Just somehow get through the 10-15 overs of new ball though and it's not all that bad. Im not worried about Dhawan but Vijay is gonna make it hard for others. He has played 4-5 tests, about 5 ODI's and multiple T20's away from home and is yet to get even a 50.

In fact, Sehwag was carting all bowlers around in that innings before hitting Parnell to deep cover, after which Steyn ran through Bradmanath, Saha, and the tail.

even i think so but u never know both are equally inexperienced and virat has shown before he loves to give a fight. both of them wont be intimidated which is one good thing .. anyway i hope people dont go after their heads if they fail cos it will be very tough series specially for number 3:nervous:

I hope no one goes after RISS heads either, it will be tough series :nervous: But I have this feeling RISS will be the stars along with Kohli

on a serious note, i think our batsmen can score more than padosis. If Asad Shafiq and Younis Khan can get 100s against Saffas, why not Che and Kohli? Anyday these two are better than entire Paki batting lineup. It just depends on the starts the openers give. Even if they dont score, the openers should atleast be able to negotiate first 12-15 overs.

I hope no one goes after RISS heads either, it will be tough series :nervous: But I have this feeling RISS will be the stars along with Kohli

if ishant fails again than no one can help him but if rohit is in team and fails i will give him another chance (tbh he should not be in team in first place ) but if he gets chance then better give him proper run :two_thumbs_up:

Are the venues out for the SA Test series? I don't think so - it will depend on venues and the innings India bat in to predict some scores. SA are bound to give some tough venues to start with and will ease out towards the 3rd Test match or so. IMO, if India bat 2nd we may see Virat doing well in the first Test match else looks difficult. I will back Pujara to do well regardless of conditions - particularly since he's on the 'A' tour and would be acclimatized better than Virat.

But when they strike early like in 3rd test they get teams out cheaply. Then the Amla's and ABD's pile on the runs.

im more hopeful for kohli because he bats bit lower than pujara.. for pujara its gonna be hardest series of his life with not much experience and south african bowlers at peak.. this is same place where even dravid struggled at number 3..it is jsut so much harder to play new ball as compared to ball which is 20 over old.
