I had read somewhere that most NGOs including famous ones for children and old people spead a large part of the donations for wages and the working of the NGO. I don't want to donate for their wages or their employement. 100% of my money should go to the people for whom the donation was taken. In the end I always end up sending money to thre TATA cancer trust. I don't have too much to give and I want all of it go to good use.At least with Tata ...I am sure it will be put to good use. Why do you insist of sending money to NGO's? Unless you personally know the folks running a NGO, I recommend you save your money and instead personally help a few needy around you.

This is too broad. It could also include confidential information on Swiss bank accounts. Beats the purpose of the RTI 9- At some point Cabinet papers must be made public

Unless you personally know the folks running a NGO' date=' I recommend you save your money and instead personally help a few needy around you.[/quote'] I don't....I send to TAta trust and to a lady who works with people afflicted with polio or in need of wheelchairs .I am very careful with my money.....It's just that these people like "CRY" "HELPAGE INDIA" come asking for help and I have to tell them I give somewhere else. Once one local NGO lady said...why do you give to Tata trust ...they don't need the money ...I just told her, I think can decide what I do with my money. We did donate to PM's fund a few times....never again.

Their argument is that if they don't spend on administration, how will they facilitate the work they are doing? And be warned, there is large scale corruption afoot in many NGOs. Donate only when you are sure that they are honest and genuine.

They have to release the data for office & staff expenses. Unless NGO started by very rich people its difficult to maintain it.I guess some NGO's pay very good salary to top management.

Just because you have discovered a list of exemptions' date= it should be scraped? I don't see anything wrong with the exceptions. There are plenty of people who will get help in their sinister designs if they get hold of all the information they want. In countries like the US, the government can just make any information classified and refuse to disclose it citing national security and no questions can be asked. No government in the world allows a free flow of information. There will always be exemptions and the exemptions will be defined in broad terms so that nobody could squeeze out some important information based on a technicality. That is how it works. Transperency is not our strong suit,just saying the exclusions are so braod that they can be twisted as any way possible.

Selection /appointment of athletes and coaches, athlete's quality of performance , injuries, medical health and whereabouts and test results (anti-doping ) as well as information including commercial confidence and trade secrets have been exempt from the bill's ambit. Despite this concession, BCCI is likely to object to being made a national federation and may also protest at being brought under the RTI Act despite the fact that it does not take financial aid from the government. But with the recent IPL scandal revealing the ugly underbelly of the game, many sports watcher feel time is ripe for BCCI to be brought under RTI.

I have been hearing this demand of bringing BCCI under RTI for a long time. I could never understand how that can be done. You can't force RTI on a non-government organization.

You can't force RTI on a non-government organization. They are objecting to BCCI using the Team Name as "India". Very soon we will have BCCI team v/s CSA test series.

Regardless of the corruption, team India is better off in the hands of a corrupt BCCI than the GOI. If the government gets access, Indian Cricket will have the same fate as Indian Hockey.

End of day if there is a comphrehensive sports law , then BCCI must come under the rules.
