And at no stage has our team of so-called heroes stood up to the onslaught and said, ‘‘Right, let’s see how you like it’’. That is the saddest thing of the whole sorry episode, only a young lad by the name of Ben Stokes has had the balls to take it to the Aussies and fight back. It has been a spineless performance that has left me angry and deflated. I can accept watching an England team being beaten by a better side when they have gone toe-to-toe and thrown a few punches of their own, but this series has not even been contested. It has been a weak and feeble effort from a group of players who should understand what the bare minimum requirements are for a Test cricketer. Johnson’s pace has frightened the life out of players who have enjoyed dishing it out in the past, but have failed to deal with it now the boot is on the other foot. Some serious questions need to be asked about this set-up and this team. They are better than this and the rebuilding starts now. I want to see the effect that the hurt of this series has on them. Their pride has taken a huge battering and, while one or two faces will change, I want to see a reaction. It is time to get a grip, wake up and realise what hard Test cricket is all about. Australia will come just as hard and aggressive in 2015, so must we.

It's time to get a grip on reality yourself Beefy! Also, please don't overpraise Stokes. He did well with the ball, but many wickets came in the pursuit of quick runs. As for his batting, an avg of 34+ does not make one a good batsman.
