How was the last decision a howler. Clear sound and hotspot.
3rd umpire is supposed to over-rule the on field decision if there's clear evidence. No way you can say there was clear evidence about the edge. Hot Spot showed the edge before the ball hit the bat and audio was inconclusive. Hell! Even Anderson was surprised when 3rd ump gave it out :haha:

Snicko confirmed it man. and say what you want the sound was pretty conclusive. What else could the sound have been?
But the issue is 3rd umpire doesn't get snicko - the commies confirmed the same.

Whilst I agree that the system is indeed flawed, please don't blame it on England. I can understand the hate for Broad, that annoyed me aswell but the fact remains that at the end of the day the right decision was made regardless of how it got there.

can hotspot be faked? i am glad the BCCI has not approved this sham system.
It sure looks like a gimmick at the moment. Sometimes edge shows up, sometimes it doesn't. It all seems random and no way this technology is reliable. I say take out all the gizmos like Hawkeye, Hot Spot, Snicko etc. and let the 3rd umpire over-rule the howlers looking at regular replays.

Don't think I'm blaming it on England. It's not England's fault that ICC went ahead with this half-baked technology.

No..Hotspot wasn't clear..umpire gave out due to the "sound"

Snicko wasn't available when the decision was taken. It's out though but you can't give out due to the sound..What the use of using hotspot ?

So it would have been okay for Dar to give that not out, and Australia go onto win the match? The right decision was made at a crucial point and thats what counts. I don't see Haddin walking like Broad which some posters for beetching about. :headshake:

It's almost like 3rd umpire gave decisions in favor of England and then broadcasters bend over backwards justifying the decision. I mean 3rd umpire didn't even get snicko so how can he overrule that on field call???

DRS has not been so controversial till this match. Part of the blame is on the third umpire. How can he imagine that the sound might be because of a nick?

It was out but how can he overrule when the evidence wasn't clear with hotspot? Sound can be used in DRS :dontknow:
