asterix Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Not sure about State elctions but here's a report of Municipal elections: Muslims Chant NaMO Mantra Muslim-dominated Gujarat town Salaya has shifted electoral loyalties from the Congress to BJP. In the local municipal elections last month, all 24 of BJP's Muslim candidates won while their opponents, almost all Congress candidates, lost their deposits-a telling development in a town that had been an unimpeachable Congress stronghold since Independence. Muslims comprise 90 per cent of the nearly 45,000 population of the farthest town on India's west coast, near Jamnagar. But Salaya is not alone in displaying the Muslim electorate's tilt towards BJP. Statewide trends show that Muslim voters in the recently held polls to 76 municipalities were distinctly pro-BJP... someone Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Politics is a lot about personalities and not just parties. Rajiv Gandhi has been dead for more than 20 years. The top Congress leadership of today had no involvement in the '84 riots. On the contrary' date=' Modi is not only alive but pretty much the face of the BJP today. [/quote'] So Mr. Outy is a true communal as he thinks because one event is old, it should be forgotten and not relevant and those victims deserve no justice. It is still the same Congress party who are in charge and yet to give any sort of justice to those victims. And their ideals are those who were responsible for the events. So Congress is a communal party and about time, that become well-known and you admit it yourself.
CG Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 It's not that they don't try. Watch any debate on TV and the BJP representatives are always ready to raise their chaddhis bringing up '84 whenever '02 is being discussed. However, the point has no resonance among people beyond their own supporters because: 1. Rajiv Gandhi is long dead. 2. All other prominent leaders involved in '84 are non entities today. 3. A Sikh is a PM appointed by the widow of Rajiv Gandhi. 4. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi have both apologized for '84. :hysterical: So in future if namos family after 20 years apologized ,muslims would forget the issue.Even bjp pm at that time issued condolence .Fact is sikhs are small in population compared to muslims so nobody cares about them. Tytler is still involved in congress party and kamal nath is cabinet minister
bulbul Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Not sure about State elctions but here's a report of Municipal elections: :hatsoff:
someone Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Rajiv Gandhi or Indira Gandhi never accepted any responsibility for the riots. The Congress party has never accepted their responsibility either. If' date=' for example, Sonia and Manmohan had said that Rajiv Gandhi failed and that he [i']should have apologized, then this could be seen as some genuineness of contrition. The Congress party keeps worshiping Indira and Rajiv as the second coming of Mary and Jesus. This flies right in the face of their so called apology for 1984. Add Nellie massacre to the list. The biggest anti Muslim riots and absolutely no justice. It has been neglected so much and Congress has yet to reply a word on it. And instead ignore it like what Outy also did in another thread, continued to run away from it and refused to even acknowledge this incident and criticize Congress. For some, riots only happened in 2002. Pre- 2002, everything was all good and absolutely doesn't matter at all in present time. And post-2002, the riots are all insignificance to them or were "secular" riots. What about the Assam riots?
EnterTheVoid Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Manmohan Singh may be in office but he is certainly not in power. Rajiv Gandhi may be long dead but his crooked wife and his dim witted son are still numbers 1 and 2 of the ruling Congress party. Enough of Congres' secularism, something else please.
EnterTheVoid Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of the 1984 genocide but there are important monuments and landmarks named after him. How come no one has a problem with that?
bulbul Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of the 1984 genocide but there are important monuments and landmarks named after him. How come no one has a problem with that? Because he is dead.
EnterTheVoid Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 So? Being dead absolves him of his despicable crimes, does it?
ravishingravi Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 You have to look at minority numbers ( sikhs ), number of years gone by and the issues at the moment. Apart from the keyboard warriors and some partisan columnist, the issue at the moment is corruption, growth, development etc. BJP has nothing to gain by bringing up 84 riots apart from bringing Congress down from its high moral ground. It is not even a vote bank issue.

Correct answer is - Sikhs are few in number[mainly concentrated on couple of states] so it doesnt matter in national level. No one sheds same amount of tear they shed for 'other' minorities.
vayuu1 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 He gave an analogy. An analogy is not the same as a metaphor. It is also interesting that while many Hindus also died in the riots' date=' it is only some Muslims who are imagining themselves as being called kutte ke bachche.[/quote'] +1 No offense to any Muslim brother, but what about godhra, when the whole bogey which had atleast 60-70 carsevaks was burnt,Rajiv Gandhi though died, but he said during riots that jab koi bada ped girta hai(indira Gandhi )to chotey chotey ped (Sikhs)bhi sath girtey hai.
trueblu Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 What were they thinking? That burning alive of hindus would be fun, no actio will be taken? The reason Modi gets elected term after term is the hindu anger against the perps who killed those karsevaks, including CHILDREN and the attempts of seculars to deflect the blame from muslims.
trueblu Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Somebody made a movie on a missing minority kid-parzania. Why dont they make a movie on the hindu kids burnt alive by the muslims?

Correct answer is - Sikhs are few in number[mainly concentrated on couple of states] so it doesnt matter in national level. No one sheds same amount of tear they shed for 'other' minorities. Really? In India, secularism is a lot about protection of minorities. So should Sikhs who are even in more smaller numbers get more attention? So why is this a selective amnesia and politics catered to Muslims? And this is not just one incident. The largest anti Muslim riots, Nellie massacre should also be added to the list. But unfortunately, it has all been forgotten and branded as irrelevant. How stupid can that be and even here, we have some users whom are spreading that hatred message. No one has a right to tell and categorize that. As it is no different from the communal violence bill where one is presumed guilty while rest is all irrelevant. No difference.
someone Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Somebody made a movie on a missing minority kid-parzania. Why dont they make a movie on the hindu kids burnt alive by the muslims? Too much sense. Add how Gujarat Hindus victims in that riots are all forgotten. Not one time have I heard them being mentioned on TV debates.

How come no one has a problem with that? And not only he was responsible for it. But he also justified it. Remember "when a big tree falls, the earth shakes" quote.
