Detonator Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Rahul Dravid is more of a Match saver than a winner. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/283704.html Sehwag has won 8 MOM, compared to Dravid's 11, but Dravid has played 60 more tests. Kallis has 23 MOM in 162 matches compared to SRT's 14 in 198 matches :omg:
Austin 3:!6 Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 ^^^ Wow Kallis stats are extraordinary. He won MOM awards in every 7th match

KFC_Zinger Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Rahul Dravid is more of a Match saver than a winner. It would not be correct on our part to label Dravid as just a Match saver, he saved a lot no doubt but he also won a few... top of my mind i can recall Against Eng in Headingly, Against Aus in Eden Gardens, Against Aus in Aus (scored a 200 and then a few more in 2nd innings)....
game_changerr Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 tough question,,,but rahul dravid played major role in two of india's greatest test victory(in my eyes)adelaide and eden garden against australia,,,,
India-KXIP fan Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Plenty of draws from Dravid but Sehwag is easily the bigger matchwinner :nice: And he was much better to watch
kubrickian Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Rahul Dravid - bigger match winner and match saver.
Detonator Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Who has the maximum MOM's from India..... any clue ? Obviously Sachin. Just have a look at the first Indian player in that list. In ODI's Sachin has 62 MOM awards. Next is jayasuriya with 48 and Kallis again comes at 3rd with 32. I remember someone saying Kallis is a less impact player :hmmm: It would not be correct on our part to label Dravid as just a Match saver' date=' he saved a lot no doubt but he also won a few... top of my mind i can recall Against Eng in Headingly, Against Aus in Eden Gardens, Against Aus in Aus (scored a 200 and then a few more in 2nd innings)....[/quote'] Yes, Dravid is certainly won some of the memorable games, the standout being the Adeleide test where he single handedly won against such a powerful team. It could well be one of the best performances of all time. Headingly test also comes close. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/64060.html The difference is Dravid has played a second fiddle in many occations. While comparing to Sehwag, he is a better cricketer by far. If we ignore the match saving part, Sehwag edges past him slightly.
Debutant Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Another comparison thread I wanna start a new comparison thread - Which is more important - Eating or *****ing(S*H*I*T)
maniac Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Definetely Sehwag,Was an Xfactor in our rise to the top.
BeautifulGame Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 It would not be correct on our part to label Dravid as just a Match saver' date=' he saved a lot no doubt but he also won a few... top of my mind i can recall Against Eng in Headingly, Against Aus in Eden Gardens, Against Aus in Aus (scored a 200 and then a few more in 2nd innings)....[/quote'] Decider vs Pak in Pak , Twin 50s vs WI , 2 100s test against Pak at home , 92 in Perth
