its the Shane Warne school of being positive. You can just sense Warnie is putting ideas into Lehman's and Clarke's minds reading some of the articles he has written in the Telegraph newspaper.

Went running to the umpires asking "Why are the light meters not yet out" when his team was close to a defeat. And the the drama that followed wth Clarke and Dar pushing each other and Clarke behaving petulantly despite being ticked off by Dar showed how much he 'feared a defeat' the alacrity with which the Aussies went off showed how "he doesn fear defeat" Full marks to him for the declaration though.

U got to be idiotic to not ask for light when u just got 20 odd runs to defend.There was no chance of aus winning with 5 wickets to take.99% captains would not have declared at least aus tried to make a game out of it.Praise where its due.

Declaration out of frustration that is what it was because it would not have made much of a difference if he had not. In the end, result is a draw anyway.

I think u do not understand the point of the article chappell says clarke will go for win even if it means gambling like he did yesterday compared to modern captains, most never declare its good for the game.If he had not declared it would have been a tame draw.

Had the defeat staring him and ran away like every other captain. And led his side like a proper novice after that declaration. Did you see his field settings?

Sane i think you are being a little harsh. How many captains would have given England 44 overs to make 227 on a pitch which was not really doing much. When he would be the first Aussie captain to lose the ashes 4-0. I lost £20 pounds in bets i made thanks to Clarke. I had originally put money on the draw to the tune of £100 but had to bet on england as the progressed on day 5 to cover potentially bigger losses. It was borderline stupid to make that declaration.
