gattaca Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Little harsh. Cmon that was fast. If you haven't seen he pulled brett lee in his prime and that was fast ball in Australia during ashes series I couldnt find the video.
vvvslaxman Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 Little harsh. Cmon that was fast. If you haven't seen he pulled brett lee in his prime and that was fast ball in Australia during ashes series I couldnt find the video. Bottomline is he often implies he is the greatest short ball specialist ever to play cricket. When the ball is directed at the right place anyone can be troubled. Even Uthappa has pulled Brett Lee. On certain pitches anyone can play pull shots against misdirected short balls. Remember Yusuf Pathan pulling Mone Morkel for six at Centurion.
gattaca Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 ^ hmm I havent heard him say so no comments on that. If there ever was a best puller or who can play hook shot well for india it willl be rohit sharma. My sample space is small. I havent seen sunny and all other legends. Seen from tendu to current gen.
vvvslaxman Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 VVS Laxman u have to absolutely love the way he was balanced at the crease to play anything and he played the pull not so much the hook though well enough :). When the ball goes at shoulder height you can't play pull. You can either hook or avoid. Dravid is one of the best i have seen against all kind of short stuffs. Much much better than Hussain who has an average of 37 and a much worse average of 25 against West indies.
gattaca Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 VVS Laxman u have to absolutely love the way he was balanced at the crease to play anything and he played the pull not so much the hook though well enough :). stole my words. he is not like our jumping jack raina.
vvvslaxman Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 stole my words. he is not like our jumping jack raina. He is just not harsh on Raina. He is generally having demeaning words for Asian players when it comes to playing bouncers. Remember his famous words in 2007 world T20. "England are going to bombard them with bouncers" .. Sure there was bombardment.. but from the bat of Yuvi
gattaca Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 but but you get noticed only when you make noise they are paid to make noise.
rkt.india Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 :cantstop: Someone who takes a dig at anyone who has remotely issues with bouncers.. But it does not show anything. He played bouncer very well and hit Patterson on the next ball. He got out on a full length ball that moved away.
Raghav_12 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 But it does not show anything. He played bouncer very well and hit Patterson on the next ball. He got out on a full length ball that moved away. lol.. me too was looking for something in this video which can do justice to the OP.

adi B Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 hussain was a decent test player with a good englishesque technique but was poor against spin and genuine pacers against whom he went into a shell
rkt.india Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 :giggle: If you have heard him over the last 5 or 6 years.. that is when i started noticing his obsession with bouncers. Probably he was yapping about it long time before. Mercifully Dhawan, Rohit and Kohli dealt with bouncers pretty well except when directed at the body of Dhawan. We would have never heard the end of it. How the hell all these lines came into my post?:nervous:
G_B_ Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 dude this video has one bouncer. Which Nas to be fair played well.
vvvslaxman Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 http://youtu.be/D5kUPIbINbE?t=14s Brett Lee vs Hussain here. Longer clip gone missing . Probably Robelinda can help me on that.
saneindian Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 How the hell all these lines came into my post?:nervous: Haha. Anyone has the answers? Thats surely not RKT's style of writing.
