nice writeup... Any idea why Vengsarkar did not tour Pak in 1989? Was it why Sachin got picked? (did zonal politics play any part here i.e. a mumbai guy for mumbai ?)

there is a difference b/w ATG and GOAT..there can be some ATG`s but only 1 GOAT..vengsarkar can be considered ATG in india at least

The 102 at Kolkata was on a road. The 102 at Delhi in the first Test and his Ahmedabad 100 vs Pakistan were better knocks.
