On Friday, he was named in the Mumbai Indians squad for the tournament, to be played from September 21 to October 6. However, Tendulkar’s participation will depend on how he feels about his left hand, which he hurt on May 13 while trying to hit a six during the Indian Twenty20 league game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The injury turned out to be more serious than diagnosed earlier as his team management had initially expected him to recover in time to play in the final stages of the T20 League. It is learnt that after the event, Tendulkar tried all other treatment options and when the injury didn’t heal, underwent surgery in London last month. The operation was successful and he has been having a hit in the nets for the last two weeks at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s Bandra-Kurla Complex. REGAINING CONFIDENCE A senior Board member, who confirmed news of the surgery, was not sure whether the batsman would play in the CLT20. At the moment, it is all about gaining confidence. Those who have seen him train at the BKC say he appears to be in good touch and has looked comfortable. Tendulkar had walked off mid-innings (retired hurt 38 (31balls) when he injured his left wrist and hand while going for a six against Sunrisers spinner Karan Sharma. It had resulted in swelling in the wrist and around the tendons in his left hand. Tendulkar announced his retirement from the Indian Twenty20 league after Mumbai Indians won the final and not many expected him to play in the CLT20. His main focus this season is the Test series against South Africa, and to that end, the T20 tournament is crucial in terms of preparation. It is one of the few platforms available for valuable match practice as otherwise he will be left with just a couple of Ranji and Duleep Trophy games before the Test series in South Africa at the year end. During his lengthy career, Tendulkar has been forced to undergo surgeries for various injuries, including toe, elbow, hand and shoulder.
saneindian Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 He's going to miss the Mussoorie based touch therapist Late Dr. Mulkraj Dass whom he used to regularly visit before every season. Since 2006-07 , he used to visit Dr. Dass every year and even has a holiday home at Mussoorie. Dr. Dass passed away in 2010.

MCA runs its indoor cricket academy at BKC. Dirrerent from the MIG one

Mumbai Cricket Association's BKC indoor academy. Think It's a different one from what you are stating. Why he delayed his surgery for so long? Cud have got it done in may-june itself.
