Need Help: Visiting London for 10 days, any idea on expenditure?

Planning to visit London with a friend for about 10 days, during which we also intent to visit Scotland for around 3 days. Altogether 10 days, London and Scotland combined. The cheapest of hotels would do, the intent is just to visit London and Scotland, not looking for luxury. How much money (INR) shall each one of us take with us for the trip? BTW, we're traveling from India. Any suggestion would be of great help. Thanks.

In Europe,i look for ibis chain of hotels.in England,i have mostly stayed in guest houses rented privately. if u r open to things like shared rooms, u can look for student hostels, a cheaper option.

If you are open to staying in people's houses for free' date=' you can visit [url']http://www.couchsurfing.org/ .
+1 But this is a trust based network and I would recommend a complete profile (places you have traveled etc.) before you ask writing people for requests. If you're friend is a female, this would make it easier for you to get couches. Btw, even if you do not get couches there are people who would be ready to "show you around the city". Do look into those options as well. Finally, for cheap accommodation I would recommend AirBnB. In Scotland, THE place to visit is Edinburgh Castle (UK's best tourist destination) - if you're a Harry Potter fan you would be in for a treat. In Edinburgh, you can also check the Hollyrood Castle (Queen's palace). Apart from Edinburgh, you may make 1-day trips to Glasgow (there is nothing special out there apart from the Town Hall, Museum) plus Loch Ness monster legend "Dores beach". In any case, is your visa done? If you're on a tourist visa, UK has bought in some strict regulations which would require you to pay an upfront security deposit.

Cheap hotels in london cost about 100 £ a night. Eating out 35 £ a day on the basic min side. tourist attractions I would say 100 £ a day. You are looking at around 2500 £ for 10 days Rs. 262979.
