GKD .... those are just appetizers ... some of the dishes that we make ( and man does it take some cooking or wot ... ) I can guarantee you that you would never have tasted it before .... although it will still be a aloo sabji or a baingan or a okra .... and there are soooo many different ways of making sambar ... hmmm
Maybe you should tell them about nuchchina unde ... divine stuff!! :dance:

Love it! And I make fairly good dosas and idlis .....and the yummiest sambhar with coconut chutney......!:D
U cannot certify ur own product.Send it to me and I'll tell whether its yummy or dummy :D

^Nope. One of my colleague's mom is from N.Karnataka , she prepares it. I found the recipe in one of the cookin blogs , prepared in home and came out really good. Brinjals and Potatoes r my favs ! :D

Marirs in the second last photo there is a powder. Last time I ate that powder with dosa/idli was 10+ years ago :confused_smile: Do you know what that powder is called?
That would be malgapodi chutney. That stuff is DA BOMB with plain dosas!!

We call it "chutney pudi" or "Gun powder".
Yeah we call it all those names too at home....powder chutney, pudi chutney, gun poweder, etc etc :D

I like SI breakfast and NI lunch/dinner. NI curries are much more tastier than sambar/palyas that are prepared with ready-made masala. But I like Bise Bele Bhath as much as NI curries. If sambar masala is prepared fresh (fry ingredients and grind it to a paste), it beats any NI curry.

Oh no ! Not again.. I would sincerely request the esteemed members here to consider the quandry of yours truly. A pakka south Indian guy who hasnt eaten proper south Indian food for close to 15 months now. He visits a discussion forum and sees thread after thread filled with mouth-watering pics of the best S.I delicacies. He has never felt homesick , till yesterday that is.:whatchutalkingabout

Yes, they do. There are some N.Karnataka restaurants in B'lore. We do it at home. It is somewhat similar to 'Bagaira Baigan' esp with a Hyderbadi Moghlai recipe.
