putrevus Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Anyone can be thrashed ODI and T20s these days. I am talking about tests where you need consistency. I am also talking about tests only, if these guys play we will have full sessions where guys like raina will be bowling as they will be blasted every where,
rkt.india Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 I am also talking about tests only' date=' if these guys play we will have full sessions where guys like raina will be bowling as they will be blasted every where,[/quote'] No. Mohit is one of the most consistent medium pacer I have seen in India who bowls with a plan and he seams the ball both ways too and consistency is what was the problem with Sreesanth, RP, and Ishant. If he gets pitches like in SA, he will certainly trouble most batsmen like Philander does.
msb1991 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I think Mohit's next season will be a big test for him. Zaheer averages 20-21 in Ranji Trophy cricket over loads of games - that is the sort of standard Mohit should be looking to reach. If he can reach that, he should get a big chance in Test cricket. The wicket with the bouncer was promising to see but let's see how he does in the rest of the game and then season.
MCcricket Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Once again today's play washed out, I don't see any chance of play either for the rest of days, pathetic,I don't see anything special in Mohit, maybe for ODI's better then VK.

MCcricket Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 You dont always need to be special if you can do the basics right. Well in a way you are right, but any side needs one or two impact bowlers who can run thru a side, bowlers who are short and don't have pace always will be limited, Mohit is borderline f/m more m/f, I think Dhawal can be more effective in tests then him, Kaul can be better then both of em

A bit of pace can always be gained. In terms of pace, we already have Umesh and then Shukla, Suyal, and Aaron in line. A consistent pacer who can hit a length day in day out can always work well in a combination with a genuine quick. You do not need all three genuine quick or all three medium quick, but a combination, especially overseas. In India, spinners do the job most of the time.
MCcricket Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 It is so sad we were walloped 8-0, we had a long break A tours, what bowlers do we have besides BK,the only people who understood the importance of having good bowlers was Ganguly, Chapple and More,n now we will play SA and Australia, England away n same thing, shows how useless BCCI and selectors are in terms of developing a bowler, picking up right potential bowlera

saneindian Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 What an absolute farce this is. 40 minutes of overnight rain and the ground is not ready for play for more than 2 sessions now? Ban this ground for future matches I say. Pathetic
msb1991 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Definitely a farce. This would have been an important game to a lot of players' careers.

rkt.india Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 do Mumbai have no better pace bowler than BS Sandhu Junior?

rkt.india Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 And Nadeem. I wonder who will miss out? Possibly Shukla? I guess. Aaron, Shukla and Ajay Yadav will start with Nadeem. Rao always comes in when some one under performs.
