gakgupta Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 too much cricket and could burn fast bowlers.....no wonder we have trundlers....but very good for spinner and batsmen
rkt.india Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 too much cricket and could burn fast bowlers.....no wonder we have trundlers....but very good for spinner and batsmen Sandeep Warrier is the only pacer to keep an eye on. Manishankar Mura Singh should have played as Nechim is not doing anything great but only finds himself among stand byes or even Ajay Yadav, would have been nice to see young faces. West Zone does not have a single fast bowler we can talk about other than Dhawal Kulkarni who will be playing for India A.
abbicory Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 The Duleep Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition played in India between teams representing geographical zones of India. Most of the Indian senior and junior players will be participating in the prestigious tourney. _____________________ Medaillen
SLICKR392 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Good news. About time Kochi starts hosting more games. Hopefully they televise it.
Sooda Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Vinay Kumar captains South Zone? Is he the Karnataka captain? I thought Uthappa was... Does Umesh play for Central ? I think its a good mvoe to get him playing FC and not limited overs internationals. Im sure its easier for pacemen especially to get into rhythm bowling longer spells..
rkt.india Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 No Anwar Ahmed Khan in South Zone team but 7 match old Sharath is. Sharath too an be good prospect, a tall strong guy who gets outswing but does not look quick enough with what I have seen of him. Action is very similar to The Legend.
rkt.india Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Duleep trophy Semi final between East and North Zone will be live on ESPN on October 10. http://tv.foxsportsasia.com/
diga Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 looks like Badri's career is over.. sad .. Why is Vijay not in the SZ squad? Hasnt Monoj Tiwary recovered? Would have liked to see Vijay Zol in the WZ squad
SLICKR392 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 too much cricket and could burn fast bowlers.....no wonder we have trundlers....but very good for spinner and batsmen Huh? This is our domestic season. Every country has one.
Chandan Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 South Zone Squad: R Vinay Kumar (captain)' date=' Abhinav Mukund (vice-captain), Robin Uthappa, Baba Aparajith, KL Rahul, CM Gautam (wicketkeeper), Manish Pandey, Abhimanyu Mithun, HS Sharath, Malolan Rangarajan, Aushik Srinivas, Akshath Reddy, Rohan Prem, Sandeep Warrier, CP Shahid.[/quote'] Badrinath? I seem to have forgotten how he did in Ranji last year but was his performance worse than Mukund? Another news is that Uthappa is ruled out of Duleep Trophy. He hurt his hamstring during the Challengers and has been ruled out for 2 weeks. Sad to know that Duleep QF has no seamer to keep an eye on!
rkt.india Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Sad to know that Duleep QF has no seamer to keep an eye on! Sandeep Warrier. He looked pretty decent in one match he played in Challengers. Apart from one bad over, he was far better than Yadav or Mithun and for such a young and inexperienced bowler that is something and he was the third quickest bowler in the tournament after Suyal and Yadav. Only third bowler to clock over 135K consistently. His bowling action looked better than what I saw last time.
Chandan Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Thanks for the information. Hopefully he does well in the longer format. Will follow him closely.
rkt.india Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Thanks for the information. Hopefully he does well in the longer format. Will follow him closely. He did well in his debut Ranji season.

Another news is that Uthappa is ruled out of Duleep Trophy. He hurt his hamstring during the Challengers and has been ruled out for 2 weeks. rkt.india Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Warrier not even playing, instead Mithun gets to play. What a sham!
