I think it's unfair to say poor batting. It was more like the brilliance of beuran Hendricks. Remember this is the same track where Rahane made his 86 in tough batting conditions

The only Indian bowler I can think of in the recent past to have done that was sreesanth and of course, zak.

Sorry but if this is the upcoming talent for all the away tours coming up then we are looking at repeat of 0-8.

There is a difference between hitting in one match and hitting those speeds consistently. No bowler really bowl consistently quick domestic cricket because it is a long season and lots of match and no wants to miss by stretching in very match and get injured. In IPL, Kaul hit 140 plus. The thing is like Aussies come to Indian every tour with new spinner and we never see them again Indian fast bowlers are like that one series of one season wonders.It is one thing if they were lost due to injuries but these buggers became lazy and never developed. That's why we never have an complete experienced team touring anywhere and pay for it. These guys not getting injuries also suggests one thing once they make it to the team and have success they stop giving full effort and just want to preserve themselves to make more money like the batsmen. Regarding Shukla, he had 2 horrible years in 2010 and 2011 with stress fractures and groin injury where he missed out FC cricket. He came back last season (2012) but was struggling with confidence and fear of recurring injury, so he has not played much FC cricket in last 3 years, most of those matches were before 2010. This season will be crucial for him. When a guy has pace, sustaining pace is not that difficult. It needs good fitness which he seems to have.

Anyone can be thrashed ODI and T20s these days. I am talking about tests where you need consistency.
