Not denying that.....but the sad truth is even the likes of umesh who can crank upto 145 ....bowls between 135-145 range in indian conditions......Johnson is a freak and we don't have someone like him which is a fact.....writing off ishant or the matter of fact even vinay,unadkat or shami based on pace is idiotic.....forget Yorker which takes special skill and practice,when was the last time an indian bowler bowled a slowe ball(no jokes here) but a slower variation,a leg cutter etc,they seem to bowl half volleys or short pitch at a bowling machine pace.

While these days, Ishant's fastest is around 137.

Here is Yadav against Luke Wright who is not a novice. Watch the second ball at 0:12. That is a good yorker. That is where Yadav is needed. He can at least slip a few yorkers. I have not seen any yorker in this series from Indians. Yes,also I saw yadav bowl some good slower balls in Ipl but in international cricket he was back to being a bowling machine or scatter gun. Dare I say this,the last guy I saw bowl some decent deliveries at the death were dinda but he had such a legendary Ipl season that he will never play for India again. I believe irfan if fit is the best death bowling option in loi we have and that is not saying a lot....the rest are all brainless. Right now unadkat who is average is the only pacer who deserves to be in the team solely based on bringing variety as a left armer,the rest are all replacing one tundler with the other. From what I have seen in Ipl,every indian bowler bottles it at the death.

Dinda can bowl good yorkers but lacks pace and is the worst bowler I have seen with the new ball. In Indo-Pak series when every pacer got something from the pitch and conditions, even Ishant who does not have a good seam position, but he could not seam or swing a single ball. Even Shami came in last match and bowled better than him. Problem is most Indian bowlers are not asked to bowl at death in IPL likes of Ishant never bowls at death in IPL or CL for his team and the ones who bowl are mostly taken apart. Likes of Vinay and Yadav regularly bowl at death in IPL. Yadav is the only one who can bowl yorkers at pace. Dinda can bowl too here and there but he is useless for the rest of the overs.

Absolutely logical.you are plain deluded if you think 120+ bowlers are going to bowl like malinga. pacers with better strength and pace can get under the bat.even ishant was much more difficult to hit in 2008 when he had the pace and bounce.

He even bowled above 150 k in Australia. That is pace which can have impact by itself. VK, Ishant and Unadkat are not very skilled bowlers. If they don't have some pace even then what do they have ! They seem to be ideal candidates for being written off on the basis of everything. It would be idiotic to write off BK on the basis of pace alone because he is a very skilled bowler.

The over bowled by Ishant was atrocious no doubt, but he was bowling 137-140 in that disastrous over though. TBH Robin SIngh would have done way better than some of our bowlers. Not SUpporting tundlers,just saying our bowlers lack a Plan B when they are attacked

Ishant sharma averaged a speed of 145 kph in Australia. But he looked the slowest when you looked at the amount of time batsmen had to play him in comparison with Umesh. If we take into account how much pace Ishant loses after pitching i bet he would be slower than Unadkat. Don't be fooled by Ishant's release speed.

Right; having won everything he can now he doesn't understand how to spot bowling talent. Buddy give out selectors and captain some credit they understand who are the best and wont throw a random name who might have impressed you with a 4 over spell against domestic batsman. I so clearly remember so much hype for Gony after his ipl success' date=' he looked crap in international. Unadkat unless he has improved like hell there is no way he will survive for long. India selectors have more or less given opportunist to any and every possible bowling potential. [b']Just accept we don't have any and move on.

So, after today's match, you still believe that we do not have even one pacer with bowling potential :giggle: !! And hence Dhoni is absolutely right in giving a gazillion chances to low skilled, low quality pacers.
