Ishant does not deserve his place in the side . We have kept him long enough in the hope that he will magically turn into Ambrose or McGrath. in Australia Strike Rate 113 , Avg 65.88 in England Strike Rate 94.6 , Avg 58 in SA Strike Rate 79.4 , Avg 48.1 in NZ Strike Rate 70.7 , Avg 42

We have invested a lot in him,He is still only 23 and if you look at his bowling he just needs technical help, but our bowling coach is not capable of that,He needs to get his action right in domestic cricket.

The reason we have kept him for so long is simple. Name another 6"5 bowler in India capable of bowling high 140s consistently and extracting extra bounce? I'd much rather watch Ishant struggling and persevered with than watch Vinay Kumar (a 120km/h swing bowler who gets no swing). Ishant is struggling, no doubt. He needs some time away from the national team and needs to go to County cricket to hone his craft. Whether the BCCI will allow that is a different question.

Some terrible numbers. Isshannt has actually done better at home.

How does he not get wickets. 145kph and gets bounce and sometimes inswing. He just needs a season of Ranji and County Cricket to learn to take wickets and pitch the ball up more. He is young but in the future will be much better and fill in for Zaheer once he retires.

Invested what ? Time & money ? . His performances are contributing to our failures. Time to cut our losses and Invest somewhere else. He needs to LEARN how to bowl. in Domestic & County. All the places where he has failed miserably have been excellent for seam & swing bowlers. Some of us realised something was wrong in the NZ tour itself. We would have won by a wider margin in NZ if we had a good support bowler for Zaheer.

He is the same bowler is he was 4 years ago. He hasn't learned anything, and just bowls without aiming anywhere. He has zero strategy and I've just had enough of waiting on him. Shouldn't be picked in the squad until he actually starts using his brain. Would rather see someone like Sreesanth play. Only problem is that he's become fat and slow. LOL. After all look at Umesh... He's developing as a bowler every day! Why can't Ishant do the same?!

Not true. Still can bowl 140-145k if no swing around. He is not known as Kerala Express for a joke. :two_thumbs_up:
