Old guy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Not true. Still can bowl 140-145k if no swing around. He is not known as Kerala Express for a joke. :two_thumbs_up: not in 140's (im being honest) just at decent pace if fit near 138 much better then ishant cos he gets wickets but with yadav already in team (who can be expensive ) we need some one consistent

Well Yadav will have to tighten up then won't he :giggle: No he does bowl 140-145k, check world cup final. Also in england he had a toe injury but in one spell to KP was bowling 140-145k. You have got it wrong. When it swings he is bowling 135-138k to focus on that. But if he gets aggressive he can easily reach 145k. He said he wants to hit 150k and tbh nothing is beyond him.

Also he can bowl quick seriously don't know what you are talking about. He can bowl quick spells in tests too. He chooses to bowl slightly slower due to swing control.

He chooses to bowl slightly slower due to swing control. if he cant bowl quick with efficency then that pace is of no use so at best sree will be bowling at respectable 135-140 and swinging the ball out thing i like abt him is unlike ishant he does gets wickets just want him to get consistent !

He can bowl quick and accurate, just he rather not when it is swinging... Yes he does get wickets and top order batsmen, we could have a good test attack with him back in the team. I really wanted to see PK in test series in Aus, see what he can do in conditions which are not overcast :(( I think he would have succeeded.
Old guy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 well sree needs to get fit otherwise his place is gone for good now now on topic biggest problem i see with ishant is even f he cant swing acceptable happens but for a international bowler he jsut cant seem to land to balls in same places its one gr8 bowl then on leg stump and batsman is away
Cricket Tragic Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 What Warne said about Monty holds true for Isshannt as well. He hasn't played 40 tests but played 1 test 40 times.

Why are you called Dravid-TheWall when you seem to be a bigger fans of Sreesanth and Sachin?

He is a nice guy too off the field..But Sree is Sree... I didn't choose a Sree based username as I thought since he has billions of fans I wouldn't be able to get a unique ID as all would be taken.

I have never seen a Sreesanth fan but your taking this FANatism to new levels.
indiefan Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I am not sure if this is mentioned somewhere in this thread. There was a newspaper article before the third test match where there was a reference that Sachin was suggesting improvements in Ishant's bowling - in the nets. The advice was basically not to hit the deck hard, but rather to release the ball in a way to get more out of the pitch. Unfortunately, there did not seem to be much improvement during the match.
Sooda Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 What does Joe Dawes do if not rectify things like this?
youngindia Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 What does Joe Dawes do if not rectify things like this? A bowling coach will get about 10 different ppl with different styles. he may understand 6 or 7 of them well. he is not suited to each and everyone we understand some ppl better than others.even world no 1 players have problems figuring out certain players more than others. if player does not understand and think about his game,he is introuble for the long term. on occasions, he may get timely help.msotly he has to help himself with his own brain.this cannot be necessarily laid on the coach. the coach will be in trouble if no one gets any useful input. also many of the u 19 guy themselves are well set in their game and have played hundreds of matches.some crucial changes have to come in the formative years.later it could prove uncurable.
rkt.india Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 What does Joe Dawes do if not rectify things like this? How much time an Indian bowling coach gets to work on these guys, not much because they are constantly traveling or playing cricket. They barely get one practice session before the match and that is not good enough to change a bowler.
