and rahane looks convincing to you ? he has to be most edgy batsman have seen and most nervous wreck who always gives up to pressure. remember the slog in final test ? or remember how he did not even go on front foot against finn/ also how does it matters how he looked when runs came ? i was told the same after seeing rahane's inning today ..how come there are different parameters for different players? rohit scoring runs at strike rate of 70 and looking edgy is not bad but vijay scoring highest runs of india in test series makes him hack ?

look I don't really hate vijay, but I'm tired of going back to the same tried and tested failures over and over again. There are so many promising youngsters out there. Why not give them a chance? Our test team is in a transition. We don't need to waste 7 more overseas tests on someone like Vijay who reminds me of another Wasim Jaffer ( oh detonator, look i don't only 'hate players from chennai') who is good at home and mediocre overseas. I know Vijay will fail. I don't need a phd to figure it out. I was trolling at first but the more I think about Vijay just doesn't inspire me.

you can't have Rohit and Rahane in the middle order since 3 is Pujara, 4 is Kohli, and 5 would be one of these two. Rahane has to open. That's why I am advocating to give Rahane a shot and not Vijay. We already have an idea of what we have from Vijay. We yet don't know what Rahane and Rohit can do in Test Cricket. If we go by FC, then both these two average well over 60.
