GautiMaan Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 A back up to Kohli is only one man. No Pujara' date=' No Rayudu, no other gimmick. Has to be Gambhir in the squad. But I would persist with current line up for now and give them plenty of games. Even a full south africa tour too.[/quote'] I agree but he has to shift to the middle order first
fineleg Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Pujara needs to be in 11 Only one of Yuvi or Raina can be in 11. Cannot have two walkng wickets :creep: GG has to prove form big time. Right now he cannot make squad despite from dilli
Pagalpanti Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Death bowling - we have to learn to live with the fact that we're never going to get a world class bowler.. Raina/Yuvi - One of them has to be used as a finisher, inclined towards Raina as he's young, fitter and better fielder. Remove Yuvi and Add Pujara at 4 Dhoni - not a problem but India would be even stronger if he moved himself to no.5 make the middle order more solid. Let Raina-Jaddu do the slogging. Ashwin - He brings value with his batting, also not long ago in CT and Tri series he did decently.
Silva Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 The most important thing for India is to find another batsman that can do what rohits been doing recently which is consistently getting 50+ partnerships and occasionally scoring 100s. Raina and yuvi should be dropped and batsman like pujara, rayudu, maybe even gambhir should be given a shot to try and prove that they can play that role batting at number 4, in the last world cup kohli had a couple of key partnerships playing at that number 4. A walking wicket in that spot is not acceptable. Once that spot is settled raina yuvi or whoever else can compete for number 6. Dhoni really needs to bat at number 5 in the world cup. That's probably his last chance to cement his legacy as possible the best ODI batsman ever.
vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Ashwin needs a break. I don't even mind him being dropped to preserve him for tests . But Yuvraj is the most worrying. Will he gain his vintage touch? We can only speculate.
