Death bowling' date=' Raina, yuvraj, and ashwin. These successful run chases always hide these glaring negatives of team India. What to do?[/quote'] Raina is a talent but it is technique. He just needs to sort it out. Death Bowling - Don't bowl short or full tosses. ICC rules don't help either. Yuvraj - Lack of form I guess. Johnson really sized him up. Ashwin - You can sadly learn from Doherty. Just pitch them properly. Use variations in test matches not ODIs. If you do use them use them sparingly and don't bowl around the wicket.

B Kumar and Shami look like a good opening seam bowling combo to me and also they bowled decently at the death. They both hit the block hole regularly. This series is being played on flat tracks with fast outfields and against excellent ODI batsmen, so can't to be too harsh on bowlers. I want to see them play more as I think they have the potential.

Dhoni is not happy with the pitches "MS Dhoni, India captain: I think its something we need to think about (about the fact that so many high run chases have been achieved of late). Is 350 the new 280, 290 or 300? With the new bowlers they are mostly getting smashed. Even the fast bowlers are bowling with their third man up and fine leg up. Not sure where its going but if we are chasing like this it is not going to be good for the long-term health of the game. Only seeing boundaries and sixes for seven hours? We knew a bit of dew will come later, and now it is slightly easy as we can break down the game at intervals. We can evaluate after the 30-over mark as to what we need to do and what we can achieve. We were evenly placed. I think Shikhar and Rohit batted really well, and Shikhar got a century, but for Rohit it was one of those days when you can't find the gaps and he absorbed the pressure so well. Yes I think Virat was brilliant, the reason being that as the ball got old he was counterattacking and maintaining a good position when going for the big shots. He made it look easy and the way he took pressure off the batsmen was amazing. Its always about taking the pressure off the new batsman. Bangalore is known for its big runs so not sure how much we will need to chase or how much we have to set to chase over there.

Forget the bowling. These pitches everyone's getting slaughtered. Give them better pitches, they will do decently. Bigger worry IMO is the total cluelessness of Raina and Yuvraj, especially Yuvraj who has done nothing in the ODIs not just this series but before being dropped as well. This when he was scoring runs for funs for India A and in Challenger series, so form is not as much an issue.

if our batsman were facing out bowlers par score would have been 425. Our bowlers would have got hammered by Raina and yuvraj and that's what we need to fix right away

Whoa whoa whoa.....hold on......so once the scapegoats have been dropped, it's the pitches that are at fault? Common.......let us at least be consistent with our hate....I'm no fan of Vinay or Ishant, but our bowling in the second half of the Aussie innings was very poor.....the pitches this series have pretty much been rubbish.......the new ODI rules haven't helped either........

It is an embarrassment to watch Raina bat like this. Although, he might be not out. his blind ghumao to a short pitch ball with no eyes on the ball will be taken adv in Test cricket esp by Steyn in SA.

Raina - absolutely useless against good pacers Known issue Yuvi - very worrying. Very very worrying He has been a great odi bat in various conditions But in this series MJ has toyed with him and blown him to pieces mercilessly!!! We all think yuvi in diffrnt class from raina So very worrying Raina - can play only in flat pitches against seedha saadha medium pacers

We got to stick with Raina. Come on folks. This guy rises under pressure. His timing of failing to score big has come at the same time when others in top order have scored plenty of runs, hence this unneeded reaction from people. This is like dream run for all three player sin top order - Dhawan, Sharma, Kohli. It won't happen every game or every series. Raina has a knack of playing couple of special knocks ever series to save our @ss whenever it's in trouble. I am sure he will produce one such innings when we need one badly from him. When he gets going, even Dhoni sometimes can't match in his beast hitting. Let's support the young champ. All is right with our batting.

^ We need a back up to Kohli on tougher tracks, maybe not as flamboyant but someone solid in the middle order in case Kohli fails. Pujara or Rayudu would complete our batting line up

A back up to Kohli is only one man. No Pujara, No Rayudu, no other gimmick. Has to be Gambhir in the squad. But I would persist with current line up for now and give them plenty of games. Even a full south africa tour too.
