Selectors are greater fans of Ishant than ikxip and maniac:facepalm:
But the good news is at the start of the series Virat said anyone can get hit on these wickets. Perhaps suggesting he still backs his Dehli teammate. Seems like Virat the future captain also backs Ishant like the current captain
Jadeja must bhi really angry here for sitting out. Who won't have liked to be part of Tendulkar's last test???
They want to give a proper batsman a feel for test cricket batting at 6 before a difficult tour like SA. :dontknow:

The problem with him is his attitude. He beat up Ajitesh Argal in a domestic match not too long go and he was termed 'mentally unfit' to play the game.
That can be corrected.Bhajji also slapped Sreesanth and played for India after that. We can't let a talent go waste like that

What happened to project Raina? Shelved? Zaheer should have been there without doubt.
That was for the 2015 WC. Don't think Dhoni is so crazy to ask Raina to bat at 4 in tests. Also, now that Raina is dropped from tests, maybe he will now look to get out of CSK and become captain of an IPL team. Could actually help him develop as a player rather than being a permanent Dhoni sidekick.

why not?decent pace' date='moves it both ways,is accurate :hmmm:[/quote'] BK and he both have similar pace, wont work. BK is better because he can swing the ball too.

^ that depends if the IPL franchises are allowed to retain players or not
A player can always ask to be released even if franchises are asked to retain players. For Raina's own benefit, its time for him to come out of Dhoni's shadows or if possible ask Dhoni to hand over CSK captaincy to him. Kohli, Rohit and now even Dhawan are leading their IPL teams, no reason why Raina should not aspire to be like them.

your going to piss off srinivasan when he asks you to stay at CSK knowing what he did to Lorgat? I agree that Raina needs to find his own home in the IPL. From a cricketing POV it makes 100% sense. His development will be stunted at CSK.

Both have pace around 130-132. Less pace means batsmen can negate the swing by batting outside the crease. You need bowlers who can bowl around 138-140 range on a consistent basis and have skills too.

why not?decent pace' date='moves it both ways,is accurate :hmmm:[/quote'] all these things will make him decent odi bowler but he does not bowls enough wicket taking balls and good batsmen can negate his type of movement easily..bhuvi on other hand can be much more tricky with his swing and then seam of pitch..he jsut gets lot more out of track than mohit who looks like a steady bowler and nothing more.. also why would you not back bowlers like pandey and shami who are much better than him for this format ?

so you think BK wont do well in Tests too? anyways apart from Umesh we dont have bowlers with pace and skill both.Aaron is there but remains unfit. Guys like Philander,Pollock,Asif have been successful without that pace too.We have to make do with what we have

Mohit can seam it too.He bowls wicket taking deliveries too. Pandey and Shami are good too.dunno what pace Pandey bowls at but Shami is definitely good.

I am talking about an ideal combination. BK or Mohit might or might not do well is a different thing, no one knows. An ideal combination have three different kind of good bowlers. One like BK who swings the ball and can contain and bowl accurately when conditions are not helpful, one like Yadav who can bowl around 138-140 and even more if needed and one a good left arm pace bowler who can bowl around 135K or a good tall bowler like Morkel or Finn, etc. Pollock had Donald and Nitni both 140 plus bowling with him. Same with Philander. Asif was tall and also could seam the ball, a different entity altogether. Cannot compare him to BK or Mohit who both are short bowlers. We have BK and Yadav along with Shami. Shami has decent pace and seams and swings the ball both ways. Pandey is there too who is taller and swings and seams the ball. Mohit is a good choice but he will need to gain at least 5-6k of pace as he neither gets extra bounce nor has swing of BK.

if you have seen any of guys you mentioned you will know they had lot more skills than mohit and we have many bowlers who are quicker than 132 k atleast.. shami is now clocking above 140 easily so he improved and pandey has height and much better wicket taking deliveries also extra 5 k's which can be handy .. put thing in perspective ..he got 11-12 wickets on patta while mohit gave normal performance on green track..
