Great to see Dhawal finally getting his chance. Will he be given a chance though with Mohit coming in? Could have rested Dhoni given his finger injury. Also Umesh's exclusion means he's being saved for Test cricket and the ODIs abroad. Not a bad ploy. They should release Ishant from the test squad as well and let him play Ranji Trophy.

he hasn't played much list a games , his strike rate is good too..other than that, statistics isn't the best way to judge a fast bowler. I do believe he is a good prospect. He is almost 25, and its high time he got his opportunity.

i meant other backups like chepu,rahane etc ..guys like kohli,dhoni,nohit,dhawan,ash have all been playing non stop cricket for the last 7-8 months..this series is not worth risking an injury to any of those blokes before an important saf tour. i am not saying rest all of them but at least dhoni,kohli,bhuv could have been rested
