With tents up and generators humming, shoppers wait for Black Friday ands off that external hard drive, bucko! Extreme shoppers are already lining up for Black Friday deals at the Best Buy in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Jonas Allooh, 28, was the first to set up shop outside the big-box electronics retailer, according to Akron Beacon Journal Online. Allooh brought a generator, a microwave, a bed, a TV, and a videogame console. So, yeah, he's prepared. The paper reports that a short time after Allooh started squatting, another shopper, Tony Avitar, set up his own makeshift camp right next to him. Fox 8 News reports that Avitar has camped out for deals on Black Friday for the past 11 years. "It was the second year I did it; nobody had the bright idea of camping out in tents," he told the station. "So, we just did sleeping bags on the sidewalk, and it was freezing rain for 16 hours." Allooh set up his camp on Monday, which means he will have waited 11 days by the time the deals begin Thanksgiving evening. Like many retailers this year, Best Buy has been accused of contributing to "Thanksgiving creep," the tendency for stores to open earlier and earlier in an effort to draw in shoppers desperate for the best deals. Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Target, Staples and others all plan to open their doors on Thanksgiving Day. What do you think of Black Friday madness? Is it all in good fun or a sad state of affairs? http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/with-tents-up-and-generators-humming--shoppers-wait-for-black-friday-142750358.html I saw the flyer for Best buy and there is absolutely nothing to buy. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: These people waste more money and time waiting for black friday then they spend on Black Friday.

Black Friday is just about first couple of hours of shopping on Electronics. Rest is all just the holiday season gathering in the malls and stores and having time of your life away from your home among the busy floors. It's not just black fridya, the day after that and Sunday, pretty much all 3 days there will be sale, though the most top electronics will be gone in first couple of hours on friday. Rest it's like any sale day.

I usually talk to the first few people in the line at best buy and offer them $20 to hold the tickets I want. These people usually camp out 3-4 days in advance. It has worked the past few years.

Any good deals?
Tech or home or clothes which one you are looking for? Competition is heating up.. so they will do all kind of things to slash the price. Amazon usually directly competes with stores like Target, Best Buy, Walmart. So they will outprice them in lot of categories.

Your friend is going to stand in line for 10-12 hours for you? :hatsoff: Most magnificent deals are gone within the first 20-30 people in the line. These people usually stand out for at least 10-12 hours before the opening. Anyway, here check this out http://www.theblackfriday.com/

He is senior to me, so I don't think so :giggle: But there are online deals too, right?

He is senior to me' date=' so I don't think so :giggle: But there are online deals too, right?[/quote'] Cyber Monday is what you got to keep an eye on. Even the online deals will disappear in a flash. The best of the deals will sell out within minutes. Some of these tablet deals will be like that for sure. You'll need your friend to literally sit in front of a computer with a credit card 10 minutes before the deal is to open and keep the page ready to click "buy". I bought a tablet like this couple of years ago. The deal lasted for like 15 minutes but one had to be fortunate to even have the page load between buy > credit card number > submit and confirmation. I have personally found it very frustrating to buy things for others on black Friday b/c it's a stretch for me to buy the stuff I want in the first place. If you are able to get something the next day - Saturday! it's not a very good deal if it's still in stock. "Door buster deals" don't last that long. Which is why the smart thing to do is to pay the guys in the frontlines to secure the purchase tickets for you. No one in the frontline is going to buy everything. You can just get them to store the tix for things they won't be buying that you need. It's a win-win.

I am contemplating whether I should buy this or not: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8037062&CatId=5300 240gb SSD for 130 bucks. I already bought a new laptop: dell xps 2012 model so I am thinking of buying this SSD for my old laptop since I cannot put more than 2gb ram inside ( yeah its an old laptop) so I want to maximize its performance. My other shopping so far has been a camera: http://www.target.com/p/canon-powershot-sx-500-16mp-digital-camera-with-30x-optical-zoom-black/-/A-14233618#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=canon+sx+500 and a 32 gb flash drive for 13 bucks. Now for clothes shopping tomorrow and my shopping for the next year is done.
